Reviews on European food in Gourock, Scotland, United Kingdom. Gourock (/ˈɡʊərək/ ( listen) GOOR-ək; Scottish Gaelic: Guireag [kuɾʲak]) is a town falling within the Inverclyde council area and formerly forming a burgh of the county of Renfrew in the West of Scotland. It has in the past functioned as a seaside resort on the East shore of the upper Firth of Clyde. Its principal function today, however, is as a popular residential area, extending contiguously from Greenock, with a railway terminus and ferry services across the Clyde.

Visited Fenwicks as we had received gift vouchers for a meal. So glad we did! My husband and son both ordered the soup and steak sandwich, both enjoyed! I ordered the Tahitian beef salad which was marvellous. My daughter had a small roast chicken dinner which she really enjoyed. Nice atmosphere, lovely staff, amazing food! We will hopefully be back soon to sample more from the menu. Our bill was exceptionally reasonable and less than expected.

We had lunch here while at The Mod. The restaurant is nice and modern and the food was very good - we had starters of haggis followed by steak pie and fish and chips.

Stayed an overnight and had Lunch dinner and breakfast at this Hotel. The dinner was in the restaurant. The setting is over 2 floors and was lovely. A very friendly and interested staff served us and were so welcoming. It certainly added to our experience. The food itself was to a very high standard and was excellent. This was our first visit to the hotel. Having experienced the food and restaurant,If I was not staying at this hotel, I would definitely consider booking here for a night out. Prices were very reasonable. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for quality, value and friendliness.

Really enjoyed 1st time at this restaurant. Great food, lovely staff and very comfortable decor. Wet Monday in Greenock doesn't usually inspire anybody but so glad we tried this wee gem. All food was excellent but OMG Sticky Toffee Pudding to die for. Definitely go again.Thank you so much for your kind review. Im delighted to see that you enjoyed your Twist experience and we look forward to seeing you again on your next visit. Thank you From Team Twist. Stevie

Been going to this amazing little bistro for a few months now. Every time it just blows us away. The food is cooked to perfection. Presentation in a michelan star restaurant is no better. A small family run business where the customer counts. Can't fault it. Keep up the good work folks...

Visited here with two friends today to sample their afternoon tea.Sandwich selection was average really not any unusual/inspiring fillings.Scones were all plain perhaps fruit would be a better option?I had a small macaroon which was nice, there were other small cakes too.Additionally a tall shot glass with something which looked like Chantilly cream & coulis on top,my friends said it was very sweet. We opted for a bottle of Prosecco with our teas & coffees.Finished the afternoon off with a cocktail each which for me was the best part of afternoon. It was all ok but just ok,not sure I would want it for a special occasion/ celebration.Thank you for your review. The tall glass was a homemade cheesecake souffle accompanied with a raspberry coulis. We offer a wide range of sandwich fillings for our Afternoon Tea which everyone can enjoy e.g vegan fillings, traditional fillings and gluten-free options. In the past, we had unusual fillings however we were constantly being asked for the same fillings by our customers so we now cater the sandwiches with traditional fillings which seem to be the most popular... So pleased you enjoyed your cocktail, they are all really tasty! Afternoon Tea Week is 12th-18th August 2019. If you decide to book with us again please be sure to ask for a varied sandwich selection and ask for Afternoon tea with prosecco...it'll save you money instead of buying a bottle. Thanks for your review.

We dropped into cafe continental mid Sunday afternoon and were lucky enough to secure a table for one hour. Seemed to be a few larger parties in but there was a nice buzz about the place. Great views from the huge windows. Mac cheese was ok, not the best (a bit dry like it had been sitting in the oven a long time) but by no means the worse Iâve had. Roast lamb with all the trimmings went down well. Couple of glasses of house red and two excellent espressos set us up for the afternoon. No time for pudding as they really did need the table back within the hour. Recommended if in the area but would suggest booking ahead to enjoy a more leisurely experience.

What a delightful and delicious first dinner in Scotland! We ordered mussels in tomato broth, quail, lamb, steak, and fish and chips and it was all cooked to perfection and creatively plated. The service was friendly and knowledgeable, prompt and careful. The atmosphere is relaxed, and everyone who works there interacted in a positive and welcoming manner. The neighborhood is cute, views are solid, and we went for a walk after to see what else this charming town had to offer. Highly recommend every aspect of this place. Thanks for making our first evening in Scotland a memorable one!

First time visit and it was buzzing. With a varied menu that is slightly weighted towards seafood there is something for everyone. Our party had both the seafood and the meat options, and all of us were very impressed with the meals prepared for us. Well cooked, well presented and incredibly tasty. Will certainly return when next in the area, and would recommend it to anyone.
