For the start of the Oktoberfest in München the restaurant offered also some typical dishes beside the normal menu. I eat the Schweinehaxe in BiersoÃe. It was no problem to change the Knödel (I don't like those balls that much) in Bratkartoffelen. It was delicious after some disappointing experiences in other restaurants during my stay in GieÃen. For me the best placce to go. Friendly staff.

We sat up on the roof, Wow! What a beautiful view. The Food was very tasty. The service was extremely disappointing! Probably some of the worst service I have ever had. The wait staff and bartender were entirely unenthusiastic and disengaged. They pointed guests to the menus instead of bringing them to the table. We gave up on having water or another round of cocktails with our meal. When we were ready for the check we had to wait, it was almost impossible to get anyone's attention ~ we were not the only table begging for the check ~ there were 3 others. The staff kept themselves busy having a bite to eat, smoking and chatting among themselves. We come to Giessen frequently and often bring guests. I would be embarrassed to bring guest here.

The atmosphere inside is old school German brewery style and very popular. I donât go for the food but it is average grade German food. The beer however is fantastic and ever changing. You can also purchase to take home. The service is either very good or very slow, depending on the night. On the bad nights you wonder why your glass is empty and no one replenishes it. One for an owner to consider. Will always return unless the service considerably declines.

I have eaten here twice but more recently we had our wedding lunch here due to the prior experiences (especially my wife being from Giessen) but also it has a sophisticated atmosphere underneath in the cellars of a beautiful university building. The outdoor garden is also a quiet lovely place to eat in the warmer season overlooking the botanical gardens (oldest botanical garden in Germany). The menu is special as is the wine menu with many local ingredients and in season food items. The staff are always professional and for example when we sat with the head chef, he was very responsive with our dinner selection for our occasion and made good recommendations as our family & friends really enjoyed the long lunch.I recommend booking, lunches are very busy but it must be very nice here in the evening to eat among candles within the old alcoves of the cellar.Enjoy the experience. We will return many times.

the atmosphere is ok - the food just standard - they have a breakfast buffet on sundays which is ok but nothing more - they have some seats in front of the restaurant but they are not very attractiv as the busses are very closeby and loud

A Restaurant with a terrace on the River Lahn, rowers passing by. Nice view. The food was good, speciality of the house are sweet an savoury pancakes, served in the frying pan. Tasty. Not too expensive. Sehr geehrter Herr Staden, danke für Ihre gute Bewertung, bitte kommen Sie bald wieder.Mit freundlichen GrüÃenHartmund Schütt

We (3 persons) had a nice lunch which included gnocci, spaghetti bolognese and a combination plate of filled pasta. All the dishes were generous in size and very tasty. The house wine went well with the food. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place for lunch with decent food, you can't go wrong here.

Been here a couple of times with my colleagues and we all liked it, the staff are friendly and the Italian food is well prepared, price is quite good for the area too so I'd recommend this one if you are staying in this end of town.

We took our Giessen, Germany hosts to this restaurant that we had read good reviews about as our thank you to them. They had not been there as yet. It was a fabulous dinner, exquisite flavors and tastes, beautifully served. Each of us were delighted with our meals. The service was impeccable but not intrusive, albeit a little on the slow side (which has been true more often than not in our whole European experience this time). It was expensive but appropriate for our purposes.
