Great atmosphere, good food and great sense of humour from the waitress. As a Brit it is often hard to get a steak cooked like you would in the UK, given this place is a chain the steaks are cooked as requested.Dear Carly,Many thanks for taking the time sharing your feedback about your meal in our restaurant. We are really pleased to read you have enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere, and we are looking forward welcoming you on your next visit.Best regardsEmmanuel ROBIN - Directeur

Nice and typical decoration. The fondue was average, but small quantity. The staff was very nice.
Do you remember the old France - where there was a Les Routiers on every corner and you could get a Michelin star lunch and a bottle of Chateau Lafite for 10 francs before driving back to work at 4.00pm. Sadly those days are mostly gone but every now and again there are reminders of how things used to be. The Cafe des Gourmets is one such trip into the past. Great coffee and a wonderful setting in the centre of the town to kick things off. Add in an interior that doesnât look like itâs been touched since Jean Cocteau was a lad and a grumpy indifferent patron who only accepts cash (preferably francs and sous) and youâve got the complete package. My only disappointments were the lack of stand and squat facilities in the toilet and the absence of Gaulloise smoke blotting out the interior. Some things you just canât forgive the EU for.

Travelling from Chalons en Champagne to Annecy we pulled up fortuitously outside St Roche Cafe in Gap In spite of our limited French language the waitress was friendly and patient. I went for steak hash my wife chose the fish dish off the specials menu. Both meals were presented beautifully and tasted lovely. Thank you for an affordable memorable lunch.

This Brasserie restaurant is nicely located behind the Cathedral in the town of Gap. Run by an arabian gentleman who is in control of the day to day running. The food is of acceptable quality but not particular great. The restaurant and tarasses are well maintained. Good for a lunch but don't expect something exciting.

In Gapençais bistro we strive to make you spend a good time , be it on the plate, in your glasses or your head. We offer traditional cuisine including fresh, as diversified as possible and always in search of renewal to best meet everyone's expectations .
I chose this restaurant having found that the Office du Tourisme nearby had just closed for lunch. I had the plat du jour, tuna steak with sesame seeds and chopped tomatoes with mixed vegetables and rice followed by a dessert. Good value and well served. It was quite busy with peope from the nearby offices and Court.

Excellent restaurant in the centre of Gap. We had lunch at the cosy terras outside at the back of the restaurant. The menu is a mixture of French and Asian/Latin dishes. It is well balanced and each dish takes the best of the two cuisines, so its not your average fusion. The kids had the buritos with Thai curry rice, which is better than your own local Mexican restaurant (they also have a kids menu). My wife had the filet mignon with honey sauce and herbs and I had the canard 'Thai style'. Both dishes where very nice and perfectly cooked (whereas canard and filet mignon in many restaurants are overcooked). The dishes are bytheway quite large and with good prices (average price of main dish is aroun 16 euros), you get good value for money.

To lazy and tired to leave my hotel, I decided to eat in the hotel restaurant, which I usually never do. Thank God for that, as the local French cuisine provided was such a pleasant surprise. I decided for the medium menu. Before my starter (foie gras, which I can never resist), two other, very tasty pre-starters were provided. I can only say... yummy! With a slight delay, my main course of perfectly cooked, tender filet of (French!) beef, with assorted vegetables and a totally delicous morsel/pepper sauce arrived. I am already in heaven, zipping a great glass of Graves along. Then comes the trolley au fromage. All local cheese; Every one great, but I must point out the goat cheese (chevre) in particular. Just amazing! Sorry to say, I was too full to have dessert, so settled for a nicely brewed espresso in it's place. As for the service, I can only commend the lovely waitress for trying to understand my broken French. Attentive, but not obtrusive. To sum up: Delicious, nicely presented food, cosy atmosphere, gracious service & excellent value for money. Don't pass by, if ever in Gap!

We had a lovely experience at Les Olivades as we enjoyed a great 7 course dinner for New Year's Eve for a very reasonable price. The service was somewhat disorganized at first (missing cutlery, mise en bouche served before we had ordered the drinks) but it was probably the stress of the evening and the staff was so nice and kind it was quickly forgotten. We came back for another dinner and had a very enjoyable experience again.

This restaurant is perfect, for the food, the service and the price/quality level. We were there twice for dinner and tried both meat and fish menus. The quality of the food and of the service is really high and the place is very relaxing. It's really one of the best restaurants I've ever been in my life!
