Having finished a conference in Karlsruhe we cam here for a relaxed visit. We found a delightful town with the monastic precinct and in the middle, near the church this wonderful restaurant. Sitting outside in the summer heat, under umbrellas with a view over the precinct we started with beer and them a wonderful meal! The local speciality was special and the desert with strawberry sorbet once of the best sorbet we had tasted. An early birthday meal for my wife! Relaxed, friendly and with superb service and food - we will be back!!!!

Made a reservation over the phone and we were well received. Service was excellent. The lamb dish and the caprese flammakuchen were great. The salad with chicken had a bit too much dressing which made it salty and the traditional flammakuchen with bacon and onions was also on the salty side.

My trips to Baden-Baden have never been complete without a visit to the Scherrhof, a mountain restaurant in the forest above this charming resort city. It's the quintessential mountain restaurant. Easily reached by car, but even more fun as a hiking destination. A log construction deep in the forest nestled in a beautiful little depression in the mountain behind a pasture. Been there for years and largely appreciated only by locals. The range of offerings is good, and with the young couple now running the place, the fare is full of variety - from great venison dishes to vegetarian. The wine selection is very good. It is rustic with its gas lamps and tile oven that is great to sit against on cold days, but bright and cheerful touches have also been incorporated into the decor. As I said, I never visit Baden-Baden without going there.

We stayed for several nights and tried the buffet restaurant as well as the Michelin starred gourmet restaurant. The buffet restaurant had a good selection of quality and diverse dishes. The Gourmet restaurant was Fabulous.

We were warned the restaurant was a little off the beaten path. We followed our directions from the hotel concierge and with some minor trial and error succeeded in arriving at Baldreit. The décor was very nice and the food was superb. Traditional slow cooked Black Forrest venison and spätzle. The courtyard setting was nice and must be outstanding in full Spring or Summer. The restaurant was a little stuffy from the number of lit candles and air circulation was not helped with the closed windows. While an adventure to find, the Baldreit is worth the journey.

Recommended by our hotel. We said we would like somewhere to go on our 1st night in Baden Baden that would offer traditional German cooking to try - like a schnitzel with potato salad or sausage with sauerkraut ?Without hesitation they pointed us to Schneiderâs .It was a small but friendly space and we were greeted by Herr Schneider who will make anyone welcome. Frau Schneider also works the room in what appears to be a family - run affair.Menu and specials were on a blackboard brought to German speakers but there were also printed menus in English. We of course settled for a Weiner Schnitzel and Potato salad as well as a Green salad. Also has some local white wine.Food was plentiful and wholesome but perhaps cooked with a little too much butter for my liking .Has a great atmosphere and staff were very friendly and attentive .This was a good start to my German culinary experience

Stayed for the second time with another couple owing to fond memories of hotel and Werner's. This time we booked an arrangement for new year's eve with fine dining at Werner's and another three course meal another day at the Schaenke.Werner's: hotel and all the restaurants were buzzing with people, yet we were very promptly and warmly escorted to our table for four and the chef and host even made time to welcome us in person. We decided in favour of the "accompanying wines" option which that night was EUR 56 and included 7 individual varieties. Except the chardonnay I thought all of them real good matches and really enjoyed them. The food was perfect, delicious, served with great care and well explained by staff that was present when you needed them and otherwise "invisible", just the right way that makes you feel so special a guest. We definitely ate too much and drank too much with of course a bottle of champagne for midnight, and despite the place being so busy was served to perfection both in terms of timing, coolness and quality. Thank you team for making the turn of 2015 into 2016 such a memorable experience. The other restaurant is more rustic, and having dined at Werner's first eating out here twice fell a little short of expectations on the service quality side, not on the food quality side. Menu is rather limited to chose from, the first time the soup was almost cold when served (second time was good) and the waiter admitted he had forgotten about the espresso I had asked for. Choice of wine is good, relation quality to price fair. The second evening despite only have the tables being busy service was so slow that we did not care to order espresso or digestif. So all in I'd say there is room for improvement especially on the service, quality of food generally above average.Dear Guest, thank you for making Schloss Eberstein your first choice once again, and for your continuous trust in our hotel and restaurants. We are delighted to read that you and your friends had a fantastic new yearâs eve at our restaurant, and that you truly enjoyed your start into 2016.A personal touch is certainly something we do not shy away from, as our guests are highly valued, and we want them to feel this during every aspect of their stay. Dining in a castle atmosphere sets the standard of obliging service very high, and we aim to live up to the âroyal expectations and feelâ, by creating exciting new menus and offering special selections of wine.It is rather unfortunate that our other restaurant âSchloss Schänkeâ fell a bit short, after such an amazing experience at the gourmet restaurant. You are right, the atmosphere and design of the two restaurants are quite different, nonetheless do we strive for excellent service in both.We would like to thank you for taking the time to give us your honest feedback, as this lets us identify the areas we can still improve on. We will certainly take your remarks into consideration during our next meeting, and discuss how to efficiently optimise the service at restaurant âSchloss Schänkeâ.We are looking forward to your next stay with us, and plan on exceeding your expectations with outstanding service and delicious meals at both restaurants!Kind regards,Your Hotel & Restaurant Schloss Eberstein Team

Just as a starting note; the restaurant staff is smoking at the entrance of the restaurant. I find that strange for a restaurant which tries to sell itself a la a fine dining restaurant. We reserved a table at 7.30/8 pm and arrived at 8.30 pm. We were welcomed by an impolite man who told us that, in line with international standards, our table was cancelled. Another waiter seemed to disagree with him but the person continued to refuse us and seemed to enjoy it. The impolite man also told us that the restaurant had called us just before to check if we were still coming. This was an outright lie. We have checked our history of phone calls and they had not called us. We will never go back to NIGRUM and have enjoyed that night an excellent dinner at the Geroldsauer Muhle in Baden-Baden full of atmosphere, great food and excellent service.

Just a perfect setting under the trees in the beer garden. There are inside areas but this is a good spot for some beers and people watching. The baskets of flowers along the perimeter are just beautiful and makes it. The first day we had the goulash soup and the cheese spetzle with salad- the soup was especially GOOD!! We were so happy with the easy going way of the place we returned the next day. The Octoberfest beers are really good too..Worth a visit! Some music would be nice in the beer garden, even just background music would be good. Dear CarabWe are glad that you enjoyed it so much that you even came to us twice.I apologize for the lack of background music as we usually play traditional music in the background. Why it was not the case during your visit, I can not answer unfortunately. The kitchen and the service staff were very pleased about your review.I wish you the bestYour Löwenbräu team
