Avoca Monkstown is unique, being our only location that exclusively features food. With a large Food Market and separate SALT cafe, youâll find a whole new range of food experiences in one spot. In addition to the familiar Avoca foodhall offering, the Mon
Had lunch here with my partner - she had buratta with "heirloom" tomatoes and I had their lunchtime burger described as "Higgins smoked beef burger, mature cheddar, gherkins, caramelisedonion, French fries, horseradish mayonnaise". And very good my burger was too. I didn't pick up much smokiness from the beef but that didn't stop it being juicy and tasty. My partner's salad was less successful. The heirloom tomatoes came in a range of pretty shades but they obviously had just been removed from the refrigerator and were so cold that they had no discernible flavor. We pointed this out to the waiter when we were paying our bill. He went as far to agree with us that tomatoes should not be served to the table from the refrigerator, but not so far to make any adjustment to the bill when we expressed disappointment with the lack of flavor in the tomatoes! Did I mention the burger was good?Hi there,Thank you so much for visiting Avoca, and for your valued feedback. We take all of your comments on board, and will make sure they get communicated to the team in an effort to improve our offering. We regret you did not enjoy the tomatoes in your salad, and will endeavour not to have them in the fridge before serving so as not to take away from the flavour.Again, thank you for visiting and for your feedback - we do hope you will come back again in future!Kind Regards,Avoca

Nestled in the Peopleâs Park between Dun Laoghaire and Glasthule, the original Victorian pavilion and former tearoom has been completely renovated with the addition of a lightweight, vaulted glass roof and a glass curtain wall to give a spacious, airy din
We stopped into the restaurant for lunch and was greeted by a very friendly staff member who showed us to a table. There wasa very good choice on the menu and I opted for the Manhattan Clam Chowder, taking it as a main course. It was absolutely delicious, with plenty of seafood and about 6 clams still in the shell. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife had a goats cheese salad which she really enjoyed. The floor staff were attentive but not intrusive and our experience at this establishment was 100% positive. Thank you to everyone at this fine restaurant, I will be back.Hi there, Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review for our restaurant, we're so happy that you enjoyed your meal and our service. We hope you return to us sometime soon!

Our brand new location on Crofton Road is very close to the picturesque Dun Laoghaire harbour. This unique restaurant boasts a special setting with seating for 80 people. If it's a barista style coffee or tasty brunch style pancakes you're after, or tempt
A group of five of us booked a Sunday afternoon brunch at the restaurant. We had a very nice table close to the kitchen area. The place itself is nicely decorated creating a good ambience that is added to by the staff who all seemed very pleasent and helpful.I had Huevos Rancheros with extra Clonakilty Black Pudding which I enjoyed and all five of us were happy with their meals. I was delighted to see some irish craft beer available so I had a Galway Bay Full Sail (always good in a botle). There was nobody rushing us to leave so we had desserts and left after 2 hours. Will return.

This popular restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will find seasonal Italian-inspired menus paired with a stunning sea view, alongside a beautiful bar. Haddington House began its journey as Oliveto and youâll see from the quality
Booked here for a family get together. Could not get over the price of our bill the end. We were never given children's menus, just told what food there was so when the bill arrived we were very unhappy. Small bowl of PLAIN pasta for a 2 year old was â¬6???? Childrens pizzas â¬9 then to add on a scoop of ice cream was â¬12. Our waitor didnt smile once, ladies on the main desk where people arrive to be seated looked stressed and miserble. Will most definitely not return due to the over priced menu, unhappy staff and price of drinks menu, over â¬11 for an aperol sprizr, Oliveto your in Dun Laoghaire not rome. Lower your prices and brush up on customer service. Take a leaf out of the Italian restaurant down the road from yourselves.Dear Sarah, thanks for taking the time to review Oliveto. We are genuinely sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our pricing structure and service levels. The prices of our menu items are carefully worked out for each item. We are currently working on our children's offerings, to streamline them further. Please contact me directly at [email protected] and I can resolve this with you directly. Kind regards, Chloe

8A Brasserie offers a quality dining experience at a very reasonable prices. The seating is comfortable, providing space and light to eat and talk without any background noise other than other human voices which is a pleasure in itself. Service is attentive and knowledgeable with good advice on wine recommendation for dishes selected. The menu is imaginative with attention to locally sourced ingredients and variety of choice. A 2 course meal for 4 adults with wine and coffees came to Eur 168. Irish and English understood and spoken, which is rare in South County Dublin

My familyâs favorite restaurant. I am constantly craving their food ESPECIALLY the seafood linguine - the best I have ever had. So unique and the staff are all so friendly and seem like their own little family. We find it difficult to book any other restaurant as we know we can always rely on and completely enjoy our experience and our food at Thats Amore !

This restaurant is a small little gem, run by a lovely couple. We had a wonderful faultless meal on Wednesday. Mushroom ravioli, scallop ceviche, the best chicken wings followed by perfectly cooked rib eye steak, lobster, beautiful dexter burger and lobster ravioli. Deserts and wine were great too. Itâs a lovely place to visit with wonderful welcome and service!

My daughter in law graduated from University College Dublin & it was decided to celebrate the event at Hartleys after the graduation ceremony. We were a party of 14 & we had cocktails at the bar to start. The bar staff were very knowledgeable on the various drinks & cocktails ordered. They were helpful, courteous & friendly. Following a few bevies we repaired to our table which was beautifully laid out. We had a set menu with choices & after the order was taken the food arrived without undue delay. The service was great, the food was great & the entire night was excellent. Everybody had a very enjoyable night & the graduate thoroughly enjoyed herself, particularly when the staff brought on a celebratory candle lit cake. I would happily recommend Hartleys for any such event or indeed for any dining requirement.

This charming bistro style seafood restaurant is well worth a visit. The owner, Peter Caviston, as utterly charming and his deli store next door, probably the best I have seen anywhere in Ireland.Caviston's has been there for decades, has a loyal local clientele and caters perfectly for visitors. Fresh, fresh seafood and shellfish. The crab mayonnaise is outstanding.

The Waterfront Bistro accommodates lunch and evening dining. A great dining experience at ordinary prices. Wednesday to Sunday nights it transforms into a sophisticated dining area with excellent dishes and beautiful wines on offer
On our first evening in Dún Laoghaire we had dinner at the Waterfront Bistro. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the next evening. (We might have come again on our third and last day, but that would have clashed with a European qualifier match against the Dutch. Alas, weâd better dined here again and not watched this humiliating loss...)The Waterfront Bistro is outstanding in many ways. The food is excellent, the wine list put together with great skill, the Guinness perfectly drawn into a chilled glass, and the proprietor makes you feel at home from the moment you step through the door. They offer a very refined way of home cooking. The soups of the day (for example parsnip/ginger) are soul-warming and have just the right consistency, not too thick and not too thin. The fish & chips were the best I ever had â Iâve had lots over there in the UK -, and I had to ask for more of the delicious remoulade sauce. The salads come dressed with a fine vinaigrette (on day 2, the greens would have benefitted from another washing cycle). We had them with goat cheese and with an interesting combination of pigeon and crispy fried pancetta. The vegetable linguine and the slow cooked pork belly were another examples of how to turn a rather ordinary dish into an epiphany (Iâm not exaggerating here). The mussels I had for starters were such a generous pile that it would have sufficed easily for a full meal; they were so delicious that I couldnât help licking my fingers instead of using the iced lemon water. On the first evening the ladies had some room left for dessert, in other words the options were too tempting. They had the mousses (mango/passion fruit and white chocolate/raspberry), both with vanilla ice cream. The photos speak for themselves.I wonder what the Michelin fellows were thinking when they visited Dún Laghoire the last time. A plate is the least we would award, but actually this place deserves a bib gourmand.Your review has been shared with all the staff and we are all thrilled. Thanks so much!
