On the banks of the lovely Elbe River, the German city of Dresden is lush and green, filled with forests and gardens and parks. After suffering through many of the tourist places sporting outrageous prices for below-par food, this was a relieve and a treat. The food has a distinct German style, but without the commonness and heavyness that put me off many German restaurants. A bit pricey, but overall highly recommended.

The restaurant is within walking distance (a 10-15 minute walk), somewhat outside the center, in an old building. Behind the building is an attractive courtyard with terrace. We have been here once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times we enjoyed the simple but very tasty dishes. The kitchen works with fresh products and beautiful ingredients. The menu is aimed at vegetarians and vegans; for meat eaters there are only 1 or 2 dishes.

After several nights of having convenience food for dinner it was time for a proper meal. This one was a winner thanks to your recommendation ....it was helpful that they had an extensive English menu to choose from too as unfortunately we donât speak German. It was well priced too.

I thoroughly recommend this very friendly and very interesting restaurant. I had two really excellent meals here during recent Dresden trip. The host was genuinely warm and friendly. Spetsle or Swabian noodles outstanding. It's a great restaurant - stylish too in lovely courtyard.

Künstlercasino in den 1950er Jahren, DDRâVerlagsgebäude und klassisches Wettbüro in den 1990ern, heute Restaurant, Bar, Konzert Venue & Club mit wundervollem Sommergarten!
We had two great lunches in this friendly restaurant during our stay in Dresden. After disappointing experience in several restaurants in the historical center of Dresden, we were so happy to find this place! Located in Dresden's Neue Stadt across the river, it a just a 15 minute walk from the historical center. The trip is well worth the effort, as the restaurant serves good innovative food made by a motivated chef from fresh ingredients. Service was friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed lunch on the sunny terrace. Check first the daily list as it contains season's ingredients.

This was recommended so we went before our walking tour. Martin Luther church is visible from the restaurant. A seat outside involves and we had to cover our juice beverage pronto. We ordered the Hearty Breakfast: scrambled eggs, piled high w bacon and sausages. 3 pieces of toast w a dish of butter. No jam offered. Tasty food. Our waitress was detached and impersonable. Perhaps because she was managing the entire outside by herself. A nice place to sit but the sun does come up and is quite hot. Bathroom inside is clean and easy to get to. No stairs. A small park nearby w questionable clientele.Thank you for visiting us at Lloyd's.We were very happy about your rating. We wish you a nice time in Germany.Best regards, Your Lloyds Team.

Went for dinner my last night in Dresden. Was hard to find and the parking is across the street in a lot (you need to pay). The restaurant itself was modern, luxurious, clean, and very pleasant. The wait staff were extremely helpful, translating the entire specials of the day board to English. We wound up ordering the following, which were all really, really good: Saibling, Fruhlingssalat, kalbsfilet, and austern. All the ingredients were fresh, the texture profile of the plates complex, and the tastes well balanced. Really a refined and delicious meal.I would recommend business dinners, couples, and special events.

Skeptical about argentine steak in Dresden...... Couldnt be more strange a combination! In any case, on our one meal stop in the beautiful Dresden we decided to give their lunch a go. Afterall if nothing else - their affordable price tag is attractive enough! The restaurant is at the outskirt of town but in an old building circa 1870s. Service was minimal (only 1 waiting staff that we could see). We ordered from their lunch menu which was an excellent spread of choices including quality cuts of steak - rump and fillet. What more can you ask for 10 Euros!!Then lunch was served quickly - and Voila! How on earth would we expect the perfect done-ness, mine was medium, fillet was juicy, succulent and just dynamic with simple herb butter! Its easily the best tasting steak I had ever came across. Caught me by utter surprise. But sadden to know the chance of us returning to Dresden just to teeth into that piece of gem?!We boldly asked to buy their steak pepper mix which was part of the condiments served to us (which was magical seasoning on steaks and barbies!).A must must must try for steak lovers (and pre-lovers of steaks)

Fabulous restaurant! Itâs located outside the old town, but thereâs a tram stop a 5-minute walk away. The food was superb. The iced lemon yoghurt soup was amazing. So was the amuse bouche, which was a wonderful avocado-infused sour cream concoction served over tomato bread. I loved my pork and octopus (which included a delicious pumpernickel paté topped with a sun-dried tomato glaze). The octopus, by the way, was the best Iâve ever had. My wifeâs guinea fowl was perfectly cooked. The sour cream rhubarb ice cream was heavenly. This was one of the best two or three meal we had during our month-long stay in Germany (and one of the others has a Michelin star). The chef is delightfully creativeâwe think heâs going to be a star himself. We ate outside, on a warm summer evening, which was very pleasant. The wait staff was informative, and steered us to excellent but reasonably priced wines, which paired well with our mains. I couldnât recommend Stresa more highlyâit was a real high point of our trip.

A lot of homeland insists of our concept. Marcus Blonkowski uses in his kitchen mostly handpicked seasonal products of the Saxon region. Therefore we are closely working together with the fish farm in Moritzburg or the trout farm âAm Lachsbachâ, in Saxon
The restaurant is in a basement which offers an unique atmosphere. The servers spoke English plus had menus in English. Compared to the giant portions you receive in the United States, the portions were small but the right amount. We throughly enjoyed each course. Dear M9286PVbriant,thank you very much for your kind review on tripadvisor. You are right, that our restaurant is located in a basement, service is english speaking and also our menus are translated into english. However the dishes shown in the pictures you uploaded are not served in our restaurant. Maybe you mixed sth up? We would be truely happy, if you could change the pictures. Save travels and all the best, Marcus & Nicole Blonkowski
