Discover Restaurants offering the best European food in Dili, Dili District, East Timor. Having endured 20 years of struggle for independence from Indonesia, East Timor's coastal capital, Dili, has made remarkable strides toward reconstruction after innumerable damages and losses. Its former Portuguese colonial flavor can still be found in remaining villas and churches along the waterfront, as well as the 65-foot statue of Jesus overlooking the coast, reminiscent of Cristo Redentor in Rio Di Janeiro. The waterfront parks and white sand beaches are popular for diving and relaxing.

With a mix of European, African and Timorese cuisine, Nha Casa serves paradise on your plate. The beauty of the Timorese sunsets and the smell of the warm sea breeze make you feel right at home.
Right on the beach in Metiaut. You can watch the sunset and order then move to your table when the food is ready. Everything cooked by one lovely lady. Staff are polite, friendly and well trained. Take your time and enjoy the ambience. Food serves are generous and so flavoursome. Very romantic. One of the best in Dili.

Nautilus Restaurant in Dili is located on beach Road a few minutes before you reach the U.S. Embassy. Great food (especially the kangaroo) - service is slow (but such is the case for most restaurants in Dili).
For travellers freshly alighted in Dili, Nautilus is a good restaurant to begin with. It has a range of western food, for those still a bit timid about Timorese or Portuguese food, as well as a menu featuring delightful Thai food, cooked by the owner's wife. The restaurant is cooled and offers a good range of recognisable drinks. The Australian owner is friendly and talkative but prices are a bit steep compared to most places in Timor Leste.

Like many of the restaurants in Dili the food and alcohol prices are listed in US dollars and are similar in cost to what you would pay in Australia. The extensive menu offers both local and international meals which are of a reasonable standard and there are lots a very comfortable couches if you just want to cool off with a relaxing drink.

Tibar Ximangano Beach Restaurant is Timor's finest dining experience. Perched on the top of a small cliff overlooking the stunning Tibar Bay.
We stayed the night as well as eating at the restaurant. Alice the proprietor was really welcoming and warm. We where escorted to our villa by a sweet staff member who showed us where the electrical switches etc were located. The villa was like walking into a beautiful log type cabin with lots of timber, a canopy over the bed, and looking back out the open glass doors: a view that is simply exquisite. The walk to the restaurant is situated in front of rolling hills, we were fortunate to be there at the end of the wet season which added to the beauty, we were surrounded by greenery. The view from the restaurant is the Indian Ocean, the view was breathtaking. The restaurant itself has a lovely setting with verandas and seating outside. The gardens are beautifully kept with winding paving and rock stairs descending toward the road which disappears amongst the vegetation. The service was simply sweet with smiles and polite staff aiming to make sure they met our needs. The food was delicious, there was four people in our group and each of us where happy with our meals. We had our desert and after dinner drinks out on the veranda, a pleasant way to finish off a great night.

I found this a great place to go to o a weekend evening. Waiters were wonderful and cheerful. I arrived early, around 16.00, and there was no one. I whiled up some time and came back around 18.00. The place began to fill up around 18.30. Many internationals, good service, and good food when you want something different from Indonesian. Live music. Enjoyable!

I can't believe I have never stopped here all my time in Dili. Now I know why there are so many cars parked out front. Great menu selection and laid back atmosphere.I got the medium spicy Port sausage burger with chips and a Timorese salad. Just perfect for my appetite. The burger held together and the bun was soft, the way I like it. Very nice sized portion of chips. Salad was very basic with oil dressing, I enjoyed it.I am returning!

The restaurant Diza as it was known no longer exists, we went there yesterday after reading some great reviews... the restaurant is now called Cara Vela... whilst when walking in the place looks nice and has great views, the staff were no longer attentive as reviews of the previous property had suggested ( they were too busy hiding behind counter doing each otherâs hair and make up..) when wanting to order something we had to bang our salt and pepper shakers to get any attention... we ordered a gin and tonic which had no gin ( pretty sure it was water) then tried a cocktail which was also terrible and contained no alcohol... We were really looking forward to the octopus but decided given the experience so far that it wasnât worth staying for and we left... very disappointing experience..
