We love the Roestis here- especially the mushroom, bacon and egg one. A bit like an English breakfast, but less greasy and much more tasty! We also visited in the evening- they are open Wednesday and Friday evenings and pick you go from Hintertal in a pisten bully, and deliver you back, which is all included in your meal price. They have a different menu in the evening, and the best dishes such as the meat on a hot stone, ribs, pork shank, steak on a hot stone, must be ordered a day in advance. A lovely evening out!

This quiet little eatery at the bottom of the nursery slopes really comes alive at night. The food both day and night is superb and there's a great variety. Come 10pm the place is heaving, ready to dance the night away and a great day on the slopes.

We visited this restorant twice during our 1 week vacation in Dienten. Food is excellent, portions are huge: one is enough for two persons. Service is very polite and pleasant. Good wifi.

Lovely place with nice atmosphere and great food. The prices are moderate, cheaper than places of similar quality. A real "must have" in Dienten, after a good day of skiing ot hiking. One small problem is that there is no English menu, but the staff speaks English, and... well, in the worst case You can blind-pick anything, You will not be disappointed. :)

The Steinbockalm is a fantastic mountain top restaurant with spectacular views, great outdoor eating areas and wonderful modern and contemporary/traditional dining areas. An excellent menu, including for sharing. Cheese Fondue, Pizza's , traditional Austrian dishes (Black Pudding Grostl included). Service is very friendly and efficient and of course great beer and wine list too!

Visited in autumn when it was pretty quiet, we were greeted in cool stand-offish fashion as if we had just walked in on a lock-in without the locks. The interior of the place is nice, just what you would expect from a classic Alpine ski hut. Locally sourced ingredients on the menu and an inclination towards local herbs (which seems to be a thing in Dienten and features at other huts too): I had a stinging nettle cordial simply because it was on the menu, which tasted like sugar water and a cheese dumpling soup that was probably the worst I've ever eaten. It wasn't made fresh, tough and salty and in the smallest soup bowl, just bigger than those small coffee cups you get in hotels. We also had a venison hot dog which was fine but way over priced. The service was unfriendly and unwelcoming without the stress of high season.

If you want to get away from the standard food served in any of the mass production type places on the Hochkönig slopes, and enjoy specially flavored food visit this little but cozy furnished place. They use the herbs collected on the nearby slopes to season their dishes. Something extra.

This is a fun place to hike to (we came over the Gabuehel, but it's closer from Dienten) and to admire their distillery and try some of their (exotic) liquors. The son starting helping in the distillery at age 6 and started his own "brews" at age 10. With 15 he won two awards for his creations and overall their family of liquors won over 25 awards over the course of the last 10 years. The Austrian food we tried was also excellent and they offer nice, shady seating right along their farmhouse. You can tell how proud the family is for all the international recognition and all of their liquors are for sale - a fun place to visit if you are in the area.Thank you very much for the very good recomendBest regards from the mountainsFamily Rainer

I was today showing a friend the kings tour across the Hochkonig ski area, when she spotted this hut from the lift and said that , looks nice, i have never been before so on the way back we called in, we were greeted with a very warm and friendly smile, we ordered a hot chocolate and a Goulash soup, the Hot chocolate was ok, not the best i have ever had, but nothing wrong with it, served in a designed cup on a wooden tray, then came the Goulash soup, which was superb, we also saw other food coming out of the kitchen which all looked excellent, i will defo be back to try a large meal, just as we were leaving live music was also starting, around midday ish, the whole restaurant inside and out was clean and modern with a mountain style, overall very impressed
