This is not a place to go for a special occasion but if for example the children need feeding after a day by the river - this is it. Family type meals at a reasonable price.

After an appalling reception at Cafe de Qais, we were delighted with the friendly reception we received here and the food was excellent and good value. For desert, a crepe Normande (Apple with flamed Calvados) was a must and I asked for an extra plate so I could share with my wife. It arrived already divided which was a thoughtful touch, and the flaming Calvados served at the table. Delicious!!

Etablissement ouvert ; lundi au samedi midi: de12h a 14h Le mardi,jeudi,vendredi et samedi soir de 19h a 21h
A simple, unpretentious café/brasserie with a screened outside terrace overlooking the market square and river. It was full soon after midday on a Wednesday lunchtime with quite a few regular office worker clientele forced to sit on the terrace. The simple menu with formules and a carte including a selection of salads offered good value at 11.90 for 2 courses. The plat du jour that I had was a very tasty apple & black pudding encased in a crisp pancake crust which was served with salad & sautéed potatoes.Well worth a visit if you are in the town and probably worth reserving to be sure of a table.

This was our favorite meal of our 14 night France trip. The proprietor of the hotel where we were staying made reservations for us here. When a British couple at the hotel heard we were going here (which we felt obligated to do since we already had a booking) they told us it was a good restaurant but it was pricey. We had already eaten at a 2-star restaurant in Dijon so we did not want to do âpriceyâ again. While driving to the town we pondered our dilemma. We had a little trouble finding this restaurant in this small town because it is very small, only four tables. After entering I relaxed when I saw the menu written on the wall. It offered a choice between three appetizers, three entrees and three desserts for 27Euros. When the food started coming out of the kitchen, I began to giggle. I started with foie gras, then scallops and finished with a fruit custard on a candy leaf. My wife had an avocado salad, then filet mignon and finished with a chocolate mousse. What fine courses they were! The filet was as fine a steak as she has ever had. After dinner we pondered why we donât know of any restaurants in the states with this model. Keep the menu simple, your overhead low and pack them in every night. We also wanted to talk to the British couple again to find out where they ate that was better and cheaper but didnât see them again.

Unpretentious little restaurant in a tiny village. Patio at the entrance must be pleasant in summer and indoors there are two small rooms in functional bistro style. The pleasant lady at front-of house speaks english and is helpful. Surprisingly comprehensive menu features a range of wholesome dishes, with some specials on offer too. After a busy, and lunchless, day, we were pretty hungry when we visited so felt quite able to manage three courses. Starter of very runny egg cocotte had the bonus of plenty of lardons but not much in the way of egg yolk; a small hard yellow blob in mine and none sighted at all in Mrs EPR's. My main course of pork fillet and bacon in a runny blue cheese sauce was ok, although Mrs EPR's monster -sized ham hock on a very large bone was rather stringier than expected. However, we did like the skin-on fries that came too. We shared a crème -brulee to finish. Well-glazed on top but, guess what, runny underneath. I detected a slight pattern here. House wine came from a supermarket-type box under the counter behind the bar. It wasn't very good.Subsequent bill was out by over 50% so fairly easy to spot and get corrected.Only a few tables occupied when we visited on a midweek night, although I'm told that often reservations are declined because it gets so busy. Non-dedicated off-road parking available nearby.

Dining areas indoors and outdoors very comfortable - we chose outside as the temperature had been around 28C in the day.Outside dining in a pleasant courtyard and we were told by our waitress that the menu is a suprise - we have to tell them of any dislikes or allegies that we have - then choose if your main course is to be fish or meat. We both chose fish and were served a starter of tuna on quinoa - mains were salmon, beetroot and whipped cauliflower mash and dessert of cherries in a creme anglais - I'm afraid my description does not do justice to the food, which was all beautifully presented. We had a very good bottle of Tourraine sauv blanc at E30 but I noticed some suspiciously inexpensive local wines on offer at E10 per litre.Overall cost of our meal was around the 100 Euro mark but it was worth the experience of taking our time and dining in such a nice setting.Dear Madam, Dear Sir,It's a pleasure for us to serve you. We are happy that you passed a good moment with us.Thank you for your opinion.Looking forward to seeing you another time in Suisse Normande.Wishes regards.Claire
