Went here with friends for dinner. Didnât realise tailored shorts were not allowed (in the 30 degree heat), but the manager sat us in the restaurant anyway. It wasnât busy when we arrived, just a table of 6. To be honest, once your legs are under the table, nobody can see then anyway! The food was excellent as was the service. The choice on the menu was enough to satisfy even the fussiest of palates. The ambience was great and the experience overall was wonderful. Dear RoyalNavy1964,Thank you very much for the review. I am delighted that you had an enjoyable visit and found the food, service and ambience to excellent.I hope to see you again soon.Kind regards,Tom Sherlock

My boyfriend and I came for the moules frites again which is on every Thursday. We came a month or two ago and we were not disappointed. The food was just as good, if not better than the first time and because my boyfriend doesnât like moules he had a burger from the bar menu which was delicious, I had a bite because it looked amazing! Service was really attentive and Iâd definitely recommend and look forward to our next visit alreadyHi cmb098, we're absolutly delighted to hear that you had another wonderful evening dining with us for our Moules Frites Thursday special and it's great to know that your partner enjoyed his burger too! The cafe, as distinct from the restaurant, has great light meals in an informal setting. We enjoyed the crayfish, avocado and grapefruit salad. Really delicious. A peaceful meal away from the noisy, crowded eateries in North Street.

We have been here before but this year were a bit disappointed . The whole place was packed with Goodwood Revival attendees which is great for business but all 3 of us went away a bit underwhelmed. The menu was a bit strange and first and main courses rather overlapped in selection. The food itself was well enough presented but not really to our taste. And as for the Romanian Pinot Noir the waiter recommended-------!! Generally however the staff were truly excellent and the surroundings good.

Beautiful food with amazing presentation but let down slightly by some random service. Beetroot terrine with horseradish sorbet were outstanding and my husband's pulled pork croquette starter was also good. Mains of ribeye steak and confit duck were also good and set menu price made an outstanding email very reasonable. Even gin & tonic was beautifully served. However, service was slightly random and a little slow. We sat with dirty plates from our main course for so long that we gave up on the idea of dessert! Also, when meals arrived the waitress had to ask who's meal was who's - surely a place set with a steak knife gives something away??? With a little more attention, this place would certainly be almost perfect!Dear Helen,Thank you for your review & the time you have given to leave us some constructive feedback regarding our front of house service. We are constantly striving to not only maintain, but improve the customer experience here. I will use your points raised at our weekly training meeting. I am very pleased with your experience regarding your food & will also be handing this to the kitchen as a thank you to them.Kind regards,Dan

After an exciting last day of the Goodwood Revival Festival nearby we changed into 'civvy clothes' and headed for dinner at the highly recommended ASK Italian. The place was crowded and buzzing but we had fortunately booked a table weeks ahead. The service was brisk and efficient. Drinks arrived almost immediately and the meals were not long in the waiting. Enormous servings in all the dishes, particularly the pizzas. Flavours were authentic and well matched, each of our six declared this restaurant an excellent choice.

Itâs not the easiest restaurant to find as its in a basement inside a courtyard but very well worth the effort.Great setting with barrelled roof and vernacular decor. Service was prompt, well informed and amusing.A huge choice of tapas such that there really was something for everyone. Potatas Bravas were excellent. Lots of interesting things to mix and match. Very easy to eat too much and drink too much - a really pleasant evening with friends. Easy to leave car overnight and get a taxi. Will definitely visit again.
