Reviews on European food in Chester, England, United Kingdom. A gem of a city easily reached by rail from Liverpool. Small yet packed to the rafters with history, culture and stylish cafe/bar culture. At its heart, the historic black-and-white timbered "rows" provide a shopping experience like no other place on the planet.

Unfortunatly I was disappointed by the menu and although the servers were lovely and friendly the main meal was quite basic. It was served with a bland sauce over a piece of grilled chicken on a bed of slightly undercooked potatoes. There were no vegetables at all offered No Sunday lunch was on either of the menus I saw.Nice decor just needs a better menu and a more appetising presentation of the dishes.

we are a modern family owned Bistro and Bar serving Chester for 18 years and specialising in fresh Anglesey Mussels, seafood and steak. All served with cocktails, gin, beers and wines.
Great little find. Finished off our wet day in Cheshire nicely. Food was excellent. Staff attentive and new their stuff about GF. Highly recommended.

Enjoying & sharing great food, drink & conversation with family, friends & even strangers (at times) is where we take our influence from. It's how we grew up. Although our roots are firmly in Italian cooking techniques, we love all cuisines & cooking styl
This was my second visit and it was just as good as Iâd remembered. We sat outside in the courtyard which was in the shade, but a lovely touch was being offered blankets to keep warm.We had Fish Finger Butty and a pot of tea. Everything was hot and tasty, weâll definitely we back and Iâll be recommending you to friends. Itâs a lovely place, if youâve not been, make sure you visit soon.Hi Sweetpea / Vacation girl , thanks for the great review . Small brasserie 4 miles from Chester. Went on Friday lunchtime and only 2 other tables occupied. Small bites and starters menu but only limited selection of main courses including flat iron steak, beefburger, lamb salad and plaice. Attentive pleasant service and food of good quality-fish in particular was beautifully fresh. Few sweets with creme brulee and local ice creams. Wouldn't make a specific journey to eat here but enjoyable lunch

A new dining experience... Twenty2 has been created by the independent multi-award winning team behind Edgar House, together with Head Chef Andy Scott Our concept is simple: to combine a beautiful location with beautiful food and service As our guests, we
We booked this restaurant for a group of 8. Unfortunately 1 of the group became ill on the day so her and her partner could not attend. Notice was given to the restaurant a.m of the booking that 2 of the party would be unable to go.The remaining 6 attended and had the tasting menu along with the wine package also extra drinks were bought on arrival and at the end of the evening. The final bill was near on £600.We all paid a £20 deposit but unfortunately this restaurant obviously thought that the group of 6 didnât spend enough with them to write off the £40 deposit paid by the 2 people who were unable to attend. Terrible customer relations !!! Very bad decision by the management or owners. None of the group will return and we will certainly never recommend them to anyone. Iâd never treat any of my customers like this and always do everything within my power to maintain a great relationship with my clients.Come on Twenty 2!!! Iâm sure you couldâve wavered the £40 deposit for our future custom ???!!!Dear Mr BoothThank you for your email of 19th May that contained your threat of the writing of this review, a threat clearly meant to make us submit to your blackmail. Thank you too now, for the review itself. Firstly let's be clear. This review is not anything to do with the food or the service you had on the evening. Indeed Antonio who looked after your table, told me that everyone left absolutely delighted. It is simply a complaint about the cancellation policy, and it wasn't even yourself who 'lost out'. So now we receive a review by proxy! To confuse the cancellation policy with the amount of spend, I am sorry to say is erroneous. To cancel on the day, for what is tantamount to a ticketed event for our tasting menu, after all the fresh food had been bought and prepared, shows a complete lack of respect to our team, to say that you shouldn't be charged. And in your email you said you too are in the hospitality sector, yet on enquiry for 'Uplands Farm' in Chester, I could find nothing. How interesting, that instead of settling your complaint face-to-face, when there could well have been a mutually agreeable settlement, you threaten blackmail by email, and then get on to TripAdvisor with a one-out-of-five rant. Good luck to Uplands Farm guests if that is your idea of hospitality.

The Yard is a family owned and run Modern Italian Restaurant in the centre of Chester. Brand new for 2015, The Yard combines both style and substance, with food prepared by our head chef, who has previously worked for Gordon Ramsey. We're looking forward
A small restaurant away from the centre with excellent food and friendly staff. We liked it so much we visited twice during our four-day stay. Itâs not expensive and although it might be a bit away from the city centre, weâd recommend you try it. We were staying in City Road so only a few minutesâ walk.

The ideal Italian meal experience. Quality, authentic, traditional recipes served with style in a fine looking environment. We are true and passionate about our flavours and tastes and we commit to deliver a true quality experience for our customers so th
The food was perfection, with a varied and creative authentic menu. It was obvious the whole restaurant was built on the passion of the manager/owner as he talked to every table explaining the connect of the restaurant, the origin of the food, recipes. etc. Unfortunately this passion also made him overbearing on the waiters and other staff. It was clear they felt like they were being watched and criticised at all times and as a result were not very relaxed or comfortable making the atmosphere a little tense. My one bit of advice would be for the manager just to relax a little and trust his staff to do their job, allowing them to relax a little changing the atmosphere and this place would be 10/10 flawless.

We were staying over in Chester for our wedding anniversary and decided to get a taxi in and eat out. Searched TripAdvisor for top locally rated restaurants and decided to try the Istanbul BBQ.We were not disappointed. It was reasonable busy, but we were seated straight away. Friendly staff introduced themselves and the restaurant without that pushy-ness you sometimes get. I felt it was genuine and family ran, caring about their product. We ordered and were soon served our hot starters and shared the joke about lots of bread to go with the hummus but remember you have a main to eat.The mini meatballs were delicious an ideal share with the hummus. The mains we ordered two dishes to share and again not disappointed. Meat was succulent and the home sauce was a combination of three Turkish toppings. I overly and mopped up with the last of the bread. We shared a bottle of lemon water and had three bottles of lager. Total was £56 but feel that was spot on for the food and the service. We left £60 in the little Turkish box the bill came in. Lovely food and great family feel, by the time we left at about 9:30pm ish it was busy which I suppose is another great sign of the place.

All of our Pierogis are hand made on eye. Using only the highest quality, fresh and natural Polish orgin ingredients. Inspired by Polish Tradions. Made with passion and love. We are using our family recipies. The first Polish cuisine place in Chester.
Fantastic little dumpling spot. Very friendly owner/staff producing delicious food. We had both savoury and sweet dumplings and would recommend both. However, I thought the real highlight was the beetroot soup. I would go out of my way to visit again.A few tables/benches for sit in with take-away an option.
