The Butchers Block is a laid back country style pub and restaurant which caters for all the family, including our four legged friends. The pub is nestled in the village of Burham, amidst glorious Kent countryside. Situated only 5 miles from both Maidstone
Friends of ours suggested we go to the Poofters Knob as they called it affectionately , as I am not from the area I googled it and it looked ideal, anyway far from "nestled in lovely village" I love it how they come up with this terminology, very estate agentish, The pub is actually in the middle of a very narrow street with rundown houses untidy cars littered everywhere and a skip outside of one of the houses. As I have a large car and due to a scruffy van parked opposite the car park, I did hesitate to go in but noticed a woman standing in her dressing gown watching me, I politely asked if there was anything wrong and she said that the pub was unpopular with the locals as their delivery vehicles keep hitting the cars due to the road being narrow, I parked further up the road (and my mirror was pushed in) Although we were going to eat we changed our minds, soon as I see expensive stuff like edible flowers truffles wannabe Gordon Ramsey's etc that you see on daytime cookery programs I am like no way ok for some but not me, so we just had one drink before going to the Moat for a proper good old fashioned Steak Meal with all the bells and whistles.

At The Quills we are proud of our exciting and varied menu. We start the day with our hugely popular breakfasts and brunches which are available daily until 12:00(Sundays until 14:00) We have a great range of seasonal salads, pasta, steaks, fish, sandwich
Lunch here was poor, salads were poorly presented, quality of ingredients also poor quality. Italian cannoll were stale and very unappetizing. Would not return again. Lots of really nice eateries in Rochester High Street, this is not one of them.

Smoke & Liquor opens on 30th May 2018. Run by the same team that brought you Topes since 2004, S & L is a fresh, new bar and restaurant with a non-bookable bar area, reservable tables and offers a fantastic range of gin and rum. The menu is a fusion of bo

Selale Restaurant is located a stones throw away from the Medway River in Chatham Kent. A truly friendly atmoshere and food that will remind you of eating in the Med. Turkish, Greek, Spanish, and many other dishes are served here at our family run resaura
We've not always been lucky in getting a 'walk in table' at this family owned restaurant. The service is polite and respectful. This is not a fast food restaurant and food is cooked to order. What makes Selale restaurant outstanding is the quality of the food. It arrives piping hot, well presented and of a generous portion size. We were completely satisfied and our left overs were sensibly packaged for us to take home, which we appreciated. We have also ordered take-away from Selale and driven down to Chatham to collect it. Again , food was smartly packaged and not squished and ruined.Parking can sometimes be a challenge, but this golden nugget of a restaurant is a real treat to eat at. Well done guys, We will return. A warm welcome to Elizabeth's, our family run restaurant in Rochester, Kent. Manuel & Cristina opened this beautiful 16th century Tudor building as a restaurant in 1992. The restored beams, exposed brickwork and classic vintage design pieces create an ele
British cuisine with a touch of an appealing quality. It is not your humble restaurant, as humble as the historic Elizabethâs restaurant building. There is a sense of prim and proper ness to the service, food preparation and itâs interior queues.A soup and bread amuse bouchée whet the appetite before the starter was served. The beetroot fritters were excellent; it was great seeing such an ingenious dish on the menu. The main, the nut roast, may have lacked a piquant of flavour. It was moist and crumbly, the combination of this with the sautéed potatoes and sides of vegetables made for an enjoyable end to dinner.
