Discover Restaurants offering the best European food in Chamonix, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France. As host of the first Winter Olympics in 1924, Chamonix will always have a place in the history books. Its main attractions are Mont-Blanc (Western Europe's tallest mountain) and the many ski areas that face the Chamonix Valley. Steep slopes and extreme weather conditions suit advanced skiers best, but there are also runs for beginners. Just make sure everyone in your party knows a green circle from a black diamond. Oh, and another note for the history books—Pierce Brosnan was here (filming a James Bond movie, The World Is Not Enough).

In the center of Chamonix, nestled in a little alley, up the strairs is the restaurant "Panier des 4 Saisons". Away from prying eyes, an ideal place to appreciate some instinctive, creative and traditional cooking, lovingly prepared with fresh products by
I've seen this restaurant next to Le Richemond over the years but never tried it until this past year. What a delightful surprise! They serve fresh farm to table food, fish, meats etc. prepared with seasonal vegetables. They also have a fine selection of local and european wines. Well worth a visit for dinner.

A place, a soul a love story! Nested right in the heart of the village of Vallorcine, in 15 km from Chamonix in the feet of tracks, the Coffee Counter is a place where we like the Authenticity ... Dishes, prepared in the kitchen "workshop" opened on the r
Although they claim to be open all day, they are not serving food from 14:45 till 19:00. So be careful.

Had fondue for 6 people, multiple appetizers, 3 bottles of wine, dessert and it was like 40e per person - an excellent deal! The service was VERY slowwwwwBut the Fondue we had met expectations - very good, not amazing. The interior is nothing too special. Stick with the basic fondue, or champagne fondue, nothing with mushrooms, etc etc.I'd come back here though because we just had fun!

Nestled in a picturesque village of Haute Savoie you will not miss this former coaching inn from 1885, ornate and decorated in a Savoyard style face Diosaz Gorges and 10 minutes to Chamonix with its view of the Massif Mont Blanc. Whether you come alone, i
I reserved here based on TripAdvisor reviews and wasnât disappointed. We opted for à la carte as we werenât that hungry though there are fixed price menus for around 36 and 48 euros. We ate outside with a view of Mont Blanc and ordered the chicken with tagliatelle and beef filet with a potato millefeuille, both tender and very flavorful. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake and the citrus mousse - the latter was a bit too sweet in our opinion. The owners of the hotel/restaurant were incredibly courteous and helpful. The only slight inconvenience is that they do not speak great English and the menu is in French (but we speak a bit of French so we got by just fine). We will definitely be coming back again as the surroundings are beautiful and the location is strategic for either hiking, skiing or visiting other nearby places like Chamonix or Annecy.

Liz has been running this place for 8 years now, serving locals as well as tourists. We were 4, celebrating the end of our TMB hike. We had a first rate filet steak, accompanied with well selected wine. Desert was as good as the main course, and it was accompanied with the best desert wine we've ever had.

We had an excellent meal here and the service was great. The salad was delicious with some sort of pastry and melted cheese on top. Really good bottle of wine for a reasonable price. My lamb chops were very good. The dessert was great as well, we shared the profiterole and creme brûlée. This place is small and books fast so would suggest a reservation.
