Guided by the recommendations from the Tripadvisor, we went out to dinner at the Foksner. Since we worship burgers, it was a win-win situation for us. That's what we at least thought. First thing we noticed when we walked into the bar was a small interior equipped with old furniture, seating area is very narrow and somehow uncomfortable with very small tables. And service is very slow. But that's the least of their problems. When we were served the burgers we ordered (two normal ones, one named after the house and one made of chicken), we experienced the biggest shock. The meat stinks. All the meat. Given that the Bohinj area delighted us that day, we did not want to spoil the day with complaints and possible quarrels. But that disgusting experience cost us 70 euros. My advice: avoid at all costs.

Nice and modest place. Good Local Slovenian food. Check carefully before ordering what are the dishes you are asking for. The problem (is it only when we were there?) was the service. Hard to get attention and when you get it, short span of patience. We had to get help from other guests (they were nice). Some of the dishes were not for our taste; but probably made well. Come with local support.

This is an ordinarily Italian restaurant. We drove 10 min to get there due to the high ranks it got but its not worth the while unless you are really close

We came for dinner, we had 4 courses (including desert). Food was delicious, using local ingredients but with a twist. Portions was large, they have a very good selection of Slovene wines and the waiter was very knowledgeable. I will definitely return when I am back in the area next summer.

We actually tried 3 different pizza in this restaurant and all of them were fine. Vegetables looked and tasted fresh. The locale itself does not look impressive, in a bit damaged building, but I'm happy to say that what's inside is tasty.

The owner of this place is cheerful and helpful man who talked with us with humor. We were there 3 times and every time we tried something different. Zlikrofi (a local dish) rules this place, trouts are fresh and tasty, turkey, chickens - all much to our liking. Try potato croquetes, and most important - don't forget about desserts ! Sweet Zlikrofi with nuts filling made us straight to heaven, sweet pancakes with cottage cheese were also very good. Best Restaurnt in like 30km radius ! Unfortunately closed mondays and tuesdays :(

One is first charmed by the mansion hosting the restaurant. A great Relais&Chateaux member I described in the hotel section. Parking in front is easy, could be tougher some spring-autumn Saturdays with weddings going on. Two dining halls, one intended mainly for weddings, the other one for hotel guests. Wonderful decoration, antique items abund. A spectacular evening view of their terrace & garden through a large window. Perfect setup for an aristocratic restaurant in Parisâ¦But this is Idrija, far away even from Ljubljana. And still, service is very good, smiling, eager to please. OK, it happens that nobody is around in the nearly full room and the team is out for a chat by the end of the evening, but we were so relaxed and enjoyed the feeling so much that we did not care at all for waiting a few extra minutes. Winelist going for Primorska region of Slovenia only (some 70 labels) with friendly markups considering the restaurant level. Two set menus only for dinner, both based entirely on local tradition and seasonal local ingredients. Go for either trout or game, both are delicious. Conservative cuisine at its very best, crowned at the end by exquisite Kenda dumpling made from dried fruits. A sound 15 on my 1-20 kitchen scale. This restaurant is one of the key purposes to visit Idrija and/or the hotel. Sleeping in the manor is the only logical step following an excellent dinner, so book both well in advance. Much cheaper dinner than anything on a similar level in Austria or Italy. Clearly, not for the backpacker or fast food fanatic. after a light hike we went to the nearest restaurant.We ordered:stuffed with squid with garnish and wienner schnitzel + beer. to my surprise the waitress brought me a bottle of beer, a pity, I was looking forward to the draft. BUT otherwise the food was delicious!you could also pay by card.

The tourist farm is set in a beautiful area, surrounded by forrest and with the river Idrijca on a very short walking distance. Good and spacious rooms with all the facilities. The proximity of two rivers and the fact that an fishing permit can be arranged on site make this also a very good place for flyfishing persons. This is the area of the famous marmorata trout !!!The owner can arrange a fishing guide, which we found very advisable.
