Le Cinque Terre brings an exciting mix of Spanish and Italian flavours to Bay Street, Brighton. This cheerful tapas and antipasto bar boasts a cosy dining room with an open kitchen, making guests feel at home as they watch their creations being cooked. Th
My husband, my son and I had dinner on a recent Sunday evening in the Garden Room at the back of this restaurant. We had a selection of tapas which were beautifully presented and delicious and then we each had a main and we were all delighted with out choices. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious and the service was really excellent with a very friendly and helpful waiter. From the street, the restaurant is deceiving as one has no idea of the lovely atmosphere in the Garden Room at the rear of the restaurant. We will definitely be returning.

An elegant restaurant with lovely starched white tablecloths. Very quiet even though it's on Toorak Road. A great menu with European, Asian and modern Australian dishes. They also have a set luncheon menu of two or three courses including a glass of wine. Amazing souffles, light as a feather. All beautifully presented and delicious. They also have private function rooms upstairs. Will definitely return.

Chez Olivier at its new location is really singing! Our experience was great from beginning to end. Service is efficient and timely and very friendly (all the waiting staff had a smile ready). An interesting menu: we had a goats cheese entre wrapped in filo surrounded by a light salad, followed by the confit of duck. Both were delicious and well balanced. The wine list was adequate, although I would have expected to see a few more Burgundy wines on the list. No table cloths but it did have cloth napkins. The restaurant was very popular on the night we were there, and rightly so. A top destination.

Yearning to try Russian cuisine, we finally made it happen after hearing good things about Nevsky.Quite few can come close to.producing flavors that are synonymous to their country of origin and it's safe to claim that @nevskyrestaurant is one of those rare gemsThanks to our 9 months stay in Russia, our taste-buds were able to relish and register flavors from the cuisine that has culminated from fusing Bit of European and Asian Cuisine into what's locally grown and bred with subtle flavors.Ordered Russian Mule, Russian Vodka and an Apple and Cinnamon based Vodka drinktogether with Strogonoff, Fricassee (obviously, have been missing Russian version of Julianne), Potato and Caramelised Varenikee (Dumplings), Sosiski and Chicken KutletyIt's hard to not love anything that's quite close what we have relished in Russia (I'm sure you are tired of reading this ) but Sosiski (perfectly cooked yummy sausages served with caramelised onions) and Stroganoff (Veal cooked in cream and served with Buckwheat) were easily the Dish of the daySimply binged on Julienne aka Fricassee and it was quite close to second best.Hospitality, very friendly and charming. Pricing, just perfect for the portions and taste.Vegetarians / Vegans have just one or two options so don't expect muchCocktails were Superb!!Definitely visiting.

Return visit - still friendly & enthusiastic service, excellent (healthy) food - something for everyone i.e. vegan, vegetarian or carnivore, relaxed atmosphere, open (& busy) kitchen, small but good value wine list. Highly recommended.

Our 'local' turned out to e a highlight of our Melbourne stay. From the minute we stepped inside this tiny [27 sq m!] restaurant we felt at home. Our waitress, Carolina, was a gem - ensuring always that we had enough water and wine, and were enjoying our food, without ever being intrusive. Everything is made on the premises and served up with Italian music in the background. Just fabulous and can't be recommended highly enough.

Woodland House is the collaboration between two of Melbourne's finest young chefs, Thomas Woods and Hayden McFarland. A united culinary force, they have created an innovative, energetic and produce-based cuisine of their very own.
We at the degustation menu with matching wines ... from start to finish we were underwhelmed by both the food and service. The whole place lacks atmosphere: soulless grey decor. The waiting staff were well-meaning but not up to the standard I expect from a restaurant of this standard. Of all the staff we saw, one was a native English speaker (and he didnât serve us) the rest were heavily accented, which made it hard to discern what we were being fed. We repeatedly referred to the menu for hints. A couple of the waiting staff also seemed very inexperienced and couldnât respond to relatively simple questions from us and other patrons. One Chinese couple, with excellent English, tried to make a request about the cheese course but eventually gave up trying to make themselves understood. One exception to this was the Italian (I think) sommelier who was articulate and well-informed (though I didnât agree with some of the pairings!).The menu seemed oddly sparse in information. The main ingredient in the poached calamari, for example, was poached fennel. This was quite tasty, but also a complete surprise. Why not mention it?!The food itself was variable, to say the least. A couple of quite interesting tastes - the scallop was lovely, as was the wallaby, but much of it was bland and/or under-seasoned. Not worth the money by any measure.Having recently been to Attica, which has some similarities in terms of menu style, we had high hopes of another evening of delicious food and informative service. This delivered neither. Save your money and go somewhere else - or getting organised (and get saving) and go to Attica if you want food and service worth the price tag.

Enjoy the ambience of a night in a buzzing French bistro in Melbourne without the jet lag. We aim to make your experience completely enjoyable.
Bistro Thierry delivered a great experience for our special occasion. Met warmly at the door, we were shown to a good table and assisted with some parcels and jackets. We had actually looked at the online menu (both food and wine) and decided what we wanted, so ordering was easy. Drinks were served quickly and with friendly efficiency. The fit out of Thierry's is something of a draw card in itself - certainly takes you to Paris! Our food was top quality - particularly the lamb shoulder: melt in the mouth texture. I can see why it is rated so highly, and would certainly support that.We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your BT experience. Customer satisfaction is our number one goal so it is great to learn this has been achieved on this occasion. We look forward to welcoming you back. Merci beaucoup!
