The Coach House @ Ford Park has an excellent daytime menu. From full meals to cakes and afternoon teas, all are freshly cooked on the premises using local ingredients and produce from our own Kitchen Garden just a few yards away. Set in nine acres of park
Terrible service. Food took ages to come, (1 hour) for 2 meals, it wasnt at all busy, it was slightly warm not hot. The bacon was more fat than meat. When the girl brought our food she dropped half of it on the floor and caught some in her hands she then chucked the onion rings she had caught back onto my plate... disgusting. Toilets stunk and one was blocked. Tables were sticky and dirty as were the high chairs.Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you had this experience and that we did not deliver our usual level of customer service. We make all food to order and at busy periods, food service can be slower that our usual service time but we always endeavour to serve food as quickly as possible. We have thoroughly investigated your concerns about the waitress and we have taken the appropriate actions to ensure that this never happens again. As a community organisation, we offer free access to our toilets to all members of the public using the park, whether they use the café or not. We regularly clean them and inspect them throughout a day. If our customers are unhappy with our service and facilities, we would ask them to let us know at the time and we will attempt to address any issues raised.

Passed a number of times when it's not been open, lucky this W/E. Coffee is very good and the scones were still warm served with plenty of butter and lovely blackcurrant jam, which is a nice change. Service was efficient and friendly, price was very reasonable. It is quite small and narrow so may not be super accessible.

The Ilex is a bar and brasserie located at Holker Hall & Gardens which opened in April 2016. We serve stunning British food sourced from the Holker Estate and many other local sources in Cumbria.
The booking was handled efficiently and politely. Service was prompt and efficient. The surroundings were attractive. The food was of a very high standard and at a price that made a Londoner's eyes pop. I would expect to pay much, much more for a meal of this quality in the city. The main course was delicious, attractively served with a good balance of colour and textures and flavours. The pudding was a work of art in itself. Portion sizes seemed generous.I would return to eat here if in the area and recommend it to others. Prices seemed mid range but the food was better than that.

Lovely cosy restaurant although allowing lots of space for dinners between tables, it was a relaxed and almost casual feel. Tempting menu choices - do NOT miss the snacks pre starter. We have the Comte puffs and Truffle pudding - oh my goodness me. They were amazing. Superb staff - so knowledgeable, friendly, professional and accommodating. We also had breakfast here both mornings - incredible experience itself. Beautifully and thoughtfully presented - memorable for breakfast alone! Highly recommended.

A magical Cumbrian hideaway, Simon Rogan's iconic riverside restaurant with rooms holds two Michelin stars and five AA Rosettes. Experience passion and creativity that showcases the finest ingredients and harnesses the powerful connection between food and
We dined here in October 2019. Everything about this restaurant is absolutely spot-on - the relaxed, warm welcome and similarly relaxed atmosphere are in contrast to the technical quality of the food and the well-balanced service, which was attentive without being in your face. The accompanying wine flight was expensive for what it was, but I'm not going to begrudge that because it's all part of the experience of dining in a remarkable restaurant such as this. Definitely coming again.
