Typical local food ( foie gras, confit, cassoulet...) And selection of wines from Cahors . Charming atmosphere in the old Martel.
Martel deserves a detour, especially when visiting hyper touristy and crowded Rocamadour in the Midi-Pyrénées region. The village is charming, with gorgeous architecture and buildings everywhere, showing the signs of a very rich past. But the village is extremely lively and welcomes visitors with an abundance of places to visit and eat. After a stroll in the tiny streets of this little town with 7 towers, a lunch at that specific place is a must. Entering through a pretty shop full of local produces and goodies, the restaurant area is on the first floor. Nothing fancy, simple and clean setting. A menu of mostly South-West France delicacies (foie gras and many others) and if one is not too hungry, beautiful salads with magrets, fois gras and fresh vegetables. Local and other areas wines. Not the cheapest bistrot but great value and excellent friendly service. But reservation is highly recommended as it is very busy !

We visited the Restaurant with friends for a 'catch up' evening meal. The setting was beautiful...we watched the sun go down as we ate. The service was very good and the waiters spoke English as well as French. The menu was comprehensive and catered for all ages and tastes. The food was delicious....good quantities, great quality and served promptly. Booking recommended as this restaurant is very popular!

This is definitely a place where I would come back. They work with local produce, either from their own or from local producers. Their food is recognized as fine dining, but they are not more expensive than any regular restaurant next door. And on top of that, the owner is very friendly and comes to chat with customers, the waiters know very well the menu and are trained to recommend wines...To sum it up, it's a gem!Besides, the owner makes his own wine and his a walnut producer -so you can imagine all the great dessert with walnuts you can have! And if you drink too much, they even have guest rooms for you to spend the night!

Au cÅur du village de Martel dans le Lot, le restaurant SaveursDesHalles vous propose une cuisine gastronomique. Sylvie et Alexis sont heureux de vous accueillir.
After a great victory into the FIFA soccer world cup, the dinner was perfect from fine meals (quality, ingredient choice) with good wine till a friendly-night verbena drink..Special thought to a so nice, amazing and exciting franco-american citizen who perfectly welcomed me. There's nothing better than sitting out on the terrace, in the warm evening sunshine, sipping a prosecco, leisurely studying and extensive and interesting menu, and anticipating the delights that are to follow!.The staff were friendly and welcoming, there never appears to be any rush, but service is attentive and food delivery prompt, with hot meals arriving hot, well cooked and presented.A thoroughly enjoyable place to visit for a relaced evening out.
A bistro styled outdoor terraced restaurant serving a selection of European and french dishes in the relaxing and tranquil environment overlooking the river Dordogne. The 'carte' includes a selection of good wines and vegetarian and gluten free dishes.
Lovely little hotel with restaurant. We didnât stay in the hotel but had a meal there. Advise to book as it was busy. Small menu but food was excellent with a good selection of wines. The atmosphere was relaxed and very friendly The owners speak French and English. A very enjoyable evening well worth a visit xMany thanks for your kind review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit. We were busy tonight. One of the busiest days we've had all year! Reservations always help us ensure we plan when people arrive so agree and again hope you and others enjoyed themselves. By chance did someone leave a black cardigan behind? If so we have it safely stored

My wife and I ate here twice during a five day stay in Carennac. Once for lunch where our croques monsieurs and salad were excellent, and once for dinner where we enjoyed tasty steak, pork ribs, salad and baked potatoes. For dinner we sat at one of the three tables on the terasse with a gorgeous view over the river Dordogne. The proprietors made us feel welcome and the service was efficient. We would be very happy to return.

We stayed in Carennac for a month and went to La Prieure five times! That says it all really. Helene and Fred are wonderful hosts: walking into the restaurant to see Heleneâs welcoming smile is probably a good enough reason to go there! The service is attentive, warm and delightful. The food is beautifully produced by Fred, simple, straightforward and delicious and the creme brûlée is just wonderful!
