Pretty good restaurant with great seats on the outside area. We had ordered an Javali Meat (Pretty much like lamb), accomplished with many vegetables, rice and fancy sauces of your taste. Great wine indicated. All for a reasonable price. I Had not gave 5 stars due to the Concierge that kept us stand waiting just to set the table, even telling her that I didn't mind and just wanted to sit. The rest was lovely and the waiters were pretty attending.

Restaurant and Fondue in Canela-RS. For those dinners who need to keep up with a special moment.
We knew we wanted to sample at least one Fondue restaurant while in Canela and Gramado, along with the famed Churrasco, the signature eating styles in Southern Brazil not be missed by the North American diner. We may have found the best one in town, and at a modest price. They started the meal with several hor d'oeuvres items to dip in a rich cheese sauce, including a delicious Goiabada, Veggies, and more. The entree featured several cuts of a nice variety of meats, including chicken and beef. A flaming hot stone allows the diner to cook his own selections as desired, then dip them in an astounding selection of 13 different sauces for any flavor combination you could imagine. Plentiful quantities were offered of all courses, then the server always asked if we wanted more before moving on the next course, but the initial supply was more than adequate for all but the most glutenous or starving. The dessert course was a cornucopia of fruits, candies, and biscuits ready to dip in your choice of two chocolate syrups; one a deep dark, the other lighter with a caramel tone and flavor. This was an outstanding meal, all for $48R (the Real was at about 3.3 to the $USD at the time of our visit in March of 2018), making the meal cost only $16 per person plus drinks. Memorable and Delicious.

The owners are very nice and the rahmschnitzel was good. Draft beer machine wans't working properly. the place itself is no big deal. I've been to lots of better German restaurants and I wouldn't go back. It's not bad, just not worth it.

Walking the streets of Canela can seem like a visit to a shopping mall - not too much to see except retail premises. There IS a striking 1950s cathedral at the top of the hill, the Catedral de Pedra, which is worth a look. Just down the main shopping thoroughfare, on the Rua Felisberto Soares, you find the Emporio Canela. It`s well named - like an old-fashioned `emporium`, it sells an eclectic mix of new and used books and music, artefacts and pictures, with bric-a-brac and beer ephemera for decor. It`s also a restaurant. There are tables in the main rooms, and outside on the front terrace. We sat in a quieter section alongside the main rooms. The extensive beer menu was intriguing - I had an Irish Guiness, later followed by an Irish whiskey. Food is basic but good - onion soup, omelettes, sandwiches. We had the first two, and were satisfied - it`s bar food of a good standard. Service was slow, but there`s plenty to browse through in the shop while you wait - I bought an English-language Brazilian cook book. The affable patron is happy to recount the history of the place and to find something of interest for you. In an otherwise characterless street (we tried eating elsewhere, and were underwhelmed), the Emporio Canela is a welcome burst of colour. The fact that it remained busy throughout the afternoon suggests that the locals and vistors think so too.

Restaurant Chez Lys Blanc- Fondue - Restaurant - Servimos fondues e também pratos à la carte, um lugar romântico e aconchegante.
We have visited the restaurant on two occasions, once just after they opened, and then a second time month or two later with our granddaughters. The first visit was great - good fondue and service. The second visit was very disappointing. The service staff was rushed and paid less attention to detail, and they only brought one cheese fondue for a group of five. The people at each end could not even reach the fondue. After our request, they corrected the problem ... However this something the waiters should address without the customers request.

Been to this restaurant on 16th Feb 2015. Excellent food served with passion. Memorable experience. Chef Aldo, you made this a special day with quintessential Italian food mixed with a friendly talk in the true British accent
