Le Bistro du Boucher is a chain of approximately 30 franchise restaurants, mostly around Paris and a number in central and northern France. We visited the one located in the centre of Cambrai. All restaurants of the chain have the same atmosphere and are outfitted in a semi-fifties style. Yet the people who run the restaurant make the difference. The Cambrai Bistro is one of the better ones.Le Bistro du Boucher Cambrai serves nice beef dishes and service is friendly. Do not expect sophisticated cuisine, here you just eat very well.We would recommend Le Bistro du Boucher Cambrai to anyone who seeks good non-vegetarian food at an affordable price.

Connoisseurs of beauty will love the simple pleasures of this place set in grounds, all preciously restored to retain its unique authentic charm, enjoying art and history, architecture and natural beauty. The restaurant "Le 109", built in wine vaults full
Not terribly extensive menu but what there was was well presented and very tasty. Service slow but friendly. Like the touch of the old fashion menu where the ladies don't have prices! Fabulous room.

Attentive service and a wood burning oven where pizza and is baked. Great pizza. Ask for regional specialities. Do rememember to ask what these are as not all are to everybody´s taste.

We were welcomed with a smile and an English menu when we wandered into this decent Italian restaurant, situated just off Cambrai town square. The staff made every effort to accommodate our "Franglais" and spoke decent English as well. The food was very fast in coming and tasty as well. Pricing was decent - so all in all a very enjoyable experience.

A friend had highly commended Cambrai as a day-trip from my month-stay in Lille. But being France at Easter, just about everything was closed, and even the Museum was too far away to walk from the stationHowever I came upon Pausa Gusto after looking at about ten sad restaurants in the middle of town. It was the first one that had a sparkle to itAnd indeed the pepper steak was very good, and the Tutti Fruiti dessert even better. Especially the wedges of orange that brought Tutti to the FruitiThe house wine by carafe was very ordinary howeverBut a good lunch made from good produce. The rest of my day in Cambria was a flop, however. And it rained!

A bit of a let down, in previous restaurants weâve experienced much better service, the English owner when we asked about the various dishes on the menu we were informed that he didnât know anything about the food, he seemed more interested in entertaining us with English songs & just before we left he was going to start to play the piano. Two of our orders were wrong & we had tasted better food. This is not a place I would recommend.I was sorry to hear that you did not appreciate the spirit of our establishment. It is true that our chef misread my hieroglyphics and so the order was not correct. I did offer to change the erroneous dishes but you said it was not important. I have not found out to this day the difference between Onglet and Bavette stakes, The rest of our menu I know by heart. I do not accept the criticism of the quality of our meals as can be seen from other critiques. The spirit of the house is good simple cooking. We do not pretend to be a Michelin rated restaurant. Once more sorry that our maison was not to your liking. David Smith

The food is always good here. I have been three times now and it is always superb. I love the idea of different wines by glass on each menu degastation. The service is spot on. Patrice Demarcq walked around twice chatting to his customers - a lovely touch. The youngest waiter needs more training, to serve wine from the right, food from the left and not to stretch across customers for any reason. I will always go there when I visit my friend in Cambrai. You need to book up. There are very few tables.

We ate dinner here on a Sunday night. The restaurant was quiet but busy enough not to make us feel uncomfortable. The owners are Portuguese and very friendly. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. The menu si short, always a good sign, and contains some Portuguese specialities. We particularly enjoyed the Almond Tart but beware of the portion sizes. We had one serving of tart between us and it was just the right amount. We would happily return if we are ever in Cambrai again.

Le grill Nicolas est un restaurant tendance qui vous accueille dans un cadre moderne et chaleureux.La carte allie des plats traditionnels a la cuisine du mondeavec une presentation soignee.Les incontournables :Specialite de viandes en direct de la boucher
We were beginning to despair of French country cooking after two weeks in Burgundy at local, but not expensive, restaurants, and this was the perfect end to our holiday as we worked our way home.Surprising was that it was quiet for a Saturday, though we eat early for the continentals, but it deserved to be busier.Excellent helpful and friendly service accompanied by food that was not only presented by a chef who felt some pride in what left his kitchen, but tasty too.A starter of smoked salmon and avocado was not the plain fare one might have imagined, and imaginatively delivered it was too, packed with flavour, as was, apparently, my wife's snails in garlic. I followed with the veal in sauce which was delicious and my wife a steak (why?) and we finished with Coffee gourmand for me and chocolate fondant for her, again, I won!We left France feeling that all was not lost for those eating at places where a second mortgage was needed.

We ate here on Sunday evening as our hotel restaurant was closed. Looks more like a café than a restaurant but it was full of locals, which is always a good sign. Prices were very reasonable, including the wine (we had two bottles between three of us. We had the seafood platter (which was enormous) Magret de Canard, and I had Potflesch All were delicious and service was good and friendly - I would certainly eat here again when we come back in June
