This restaurant deserves to be # 1. We didnât have a reservation and couldnât sit outside in the plaza but instead sat inside of the restaurant. It was a Saturday night though so one canât fault being accommodated this way. The service was tops, friendly, efficient and professional. The wine list is extensive allowing you to choose something to your liking and budget. We had a bottle of Losada Bierzo mencia. The food was delicious and creative. To start We shared a vegetable crepe and thinly sliced aubergine with tomato and Parmesan - both were delicious and it is hard to rate the best of the two. Next, we shared a couple of fish dishes, the salmon with apple sauce and crispy patatas and the hake, or merzula with a seafood sauce - yum to both. We finished with the cheese cake and a coffee. This all came to EUR53 as the food was considered as menu del dia plus extra for the wine and coffee. FANTASTIC.

Fue ya dos veces ! And tonight I'm going again ! Excellent meat, perfectly cook. Very polite and friendly the owner. The restaurant to go to when in Ponferrada !

modern restaurant, Spanish cuisine and excellent quality / price.
Very friendly restaurant, I had salmon which wasn't great - I think a poor choice for this part of Spain maybe. My friends enjoyed their meal which was reasonably priced and included wine. A nice cup of coffee was provided at no extra charge and it was overall a good experience.

Such a nice change from the standard pilgrim's fare. Small (only 7 tables) and slightly hidden around the corner from the Santiago church and opposite the castle. Have full menu as well as daily specials. Very, tasty and use of lots of fresh local ingredients.

A traditional Galician restaurant offering the Menu del Dia for â¬10 which covered three courses, bread and a drink. The waiter couldnât speak English, we couldnât speak Spanish but we met half-way as he was able to explain the menu in French. We started with homemade lentil soup, followed by a traditional Galician dish of slow cooked veal and rounded off with the Spanish version of cheesecake. Excellent home cooked food, amazing value and really friendly service. Oh....... and a welcoming roaring open fire on a chilly April day.
