Restaurant situated in the village of Houghton Open Thursday Friday and Saturday Evenings 5pm until 11pm
I have avoided this place because I thought it was not veggie friendly (no vegetarian option on menu on website). We were given a voucher and when I made contact was assured that catering for a vegetarian was no problem. I could even have a vegetarian Tasting Menu!Meal was amazing! Food was great and I was well catered for, there were even special veggie canapés for me.There were only two front of house staff looking after >20 covers. They did a great job. Service was very slick and efficient and they even made the effort to check that everything was OK.Already looking forward to my next visit!

Gianni's Restaurant is established in 1986. We are a Family running restaurant. Function room is available for Parties, students nights, business meetings. Please check our Website for our Midweek special Theme nights. Our guests are our friends.
Another visit and another great meal. Went for dinner and arrived in time for the early bird deal. I opted for the lasagne which was delicious as usual , more than enough for one and served piping hot. My wife had vegetable pizza which she thoroughly enjoyed. The house red wine was lovely and great value . Service was brilliant despite it being really busy. Will definitely return.

Visited David's last night (Wednesday)and was a lot busier than i thought it would be being a small location, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Steak was amazing and would recommend to anyone who has not been there.Enjoyed it so much we have just booked our staff Christmas meal for 25 people as its a lovely family restaurant and i know the staff will love it as much as we did and I know we will receive the same high standard.Thank you Chris for a great night and look forward to our visit again.

We used this as a pit stop off the M6, as itâs really close and conveniently placed. We were thrilled we chose here. So pleased in fact, we decided to use it again on the way back the following weekend! The staff were so warmand welcoming. The menu is nice food, with salads, fish, croquets and burgers, to name a few. Inside is lovely, as itâs light and airy. It has a massive, pretty much floor to ceiling, window that overlooks their garden. The garden is beautiful, it has a pond at the bottom, and the lawn is big enough for the kids to have a run around, but not too big that you canât see them. So itâs very safe for them to be free to play. We sat outside both times, and it felt really relaxing. A great way to break up a 6 hour journey!!Any time we are driving this way again, I will plan to stop here for lunch. It would definitely also make a great place to go for an evening as well.

Modern, British dining in the beautiful Rickerby Park location of Carlisle. Serving Brunch, lunch and evening meals. Seasonal tasting menus available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Sunday Roast served from 12noon. Also serving teas, coffees, c
We were very much looking forward to our lunch as we had heard so many good comments about this restaurant. The restaurant itself is outstanding and we were pleased with the Accessible Parking and lift. On arrival the Maitre dâ was superb - he welcomed us and made us feel very comfortable. We ordered a starter and main course. Again my king prawns were absolutely delicious and my husband enjoyed his soup then things began to go slightly down hill when our main course arrived. My husband ordered fish and chips. The fish portion was very small and the fish was overcooked and dry. His plate was filled with chips - again these were dry. I chose the salmon in a sauce vierge. The salmon was good but the sauce tasted as though it had come straight from the fridge and was very very cold. I too had a plate of new potatoes which were dry. However there seemed to be too much oil on my plate. The meal wasnât bad but it wasnât as good as I expected and certainly wasnât good enough for the price we paid. When asked by the maitre dâ if we had enjoyed the meal I explained our disappointment. The reason Iâm writing this on social media is because he said that the chef pays more attention to and spends more time on main meals - especially those on a Friday and Saturday. However he did offer us a free dessert.Just not good enough Iâm afraid!!!Thank you so much for your valuable feedback from your visit yesterday, It will certainly help us improve in the future. I am sorry that we fell short of your expectations yesterday and can only apologise for the mistakes that were made on our part. With regards to the portion size of the Haddock & Chips, we have had a lot of comments in the past about the portion size being too large which resulted in excessive wastage. We did review this and are currently trialing a smaller fillet size to address this issue. Obviously if we have gone too far the other way, we need to find a happy medium. Your comments have been discussed with the chefs who will pass on to the suppliers.I also spoke to Yann who served you yesterday, he was upset to hear that his comments came across wrongly. He reassured me that he was keen that you would come back and try our evening dinner menu and give us another chance because the dinner menu is so well-received.We would love to welcome you back and discuss your visit further and have a chance to put things right. Many thanksRachel Ferguson
