Many without reservations were turned away from this intimate and unasuming restaurant so we were glad we booked - thanks to the advice of previous TA reviewers. These guys love what they do and boy, they do it well - made us feel wecome, didn't try to score points by unnecessary distractions and flourishes like foam or air. This was honest but highly skilled & imaginitave fare. Chocolate pudding with pumpkin? Still can't decide whether the chef is bonkers or a genius but his slow-cooked lamb was without doubt the best meal I can recall. Thankyou!

We were staying at the hotel, but his did not influence our decision to eat here. On comparing, however, other menus in this beautiful corner of the Loire valley we booked for dinner. From the moment we were shown to our table in a very full restaurant we felt at ease. As lovers of gazpacho we both decided to try their version with rhubarb and beetroot - we'll be trying this at home next summer! The meal got better and better. The wine list was excellent with some good wines at reasonable prices, and we headed for bed after a digestif on the terrace. After a good night's sleep in a quirky bedroom with the wc in a turret we went down to the buffet breakfast. There was more choice of fruit, yoghurts, cheeses, hams and then bacon, eggs, beans, potatoes than in most hotels and we could have lingered longer but the Chateau beckoned and was worth a long visit before we departed for Beaune. Thanks for a lovely stay. We shall return.

New restaurant in the heart of the city of amboise. Discover the subtle alchemy between refined cuisine and the warm atmosphere.
My wife and I enjoyed an extraordinary lunch at this restaurant and were simply overwhelmed with the intricacies and quality of each of three courses which manifested itself in every dish being consumed to the last morsel. The value delivered by the âMarket returnâ menu at â¬21 served only for lunch from Tuesday to Friday which includes an amuse bouche, entree, main course, desert and gourmet coffee is stunning.Service was equal to the dishes being welcoming, friendly and very prompt.

This restaurant is a nice option for those staying near Chateau Chenonceaux, about 1 mile away. The dining room is small and could be quite cozy, although the lights were too bright for evening dining. Thus, it lacked ambience. Still the food is superb--beautifully presented and perfectly portioned. The 3-course set menus are an excellent value. Loved the creamy-pea amuse bouche, the fois gras starter and my champagne souflée with vanilla ice cream was perfect! A single waiter managed the room expertly. Service was curt, but polite. Dinner for two plus a reasonably priced bottle of Loire red came to 108 euro. I would eat here again.

Le restaurant de lâAuberge du Bon Laboureur privilégie la véritable cuisine traditionnelle française revisitée au goût du jour. Des produits de saison de haute qualité et les légumes du potager de lâauberge contribuent à lâauthenticité des produits et des
After reading the marvelous reviews on TA, we have chosen this restaurant to have a beautiful final of our trip in Loire valley. What a disappointment!!!Multy language speaking reception staff has artificial smiles, and in the restaurant you are welcomed by a super cold and snobbish lady, who evaluates you in a glance, basing on what you wear...and if you wear baskets (clean and not shabby), which is by the way absolutely normal for the tourists, you are treated like a piece of...The food is really average, and even the gorgeous spices of Mr. Roellinger do not save the situation. The service is very slow. And the cherry on the cake - you will wait for your bottle of wine till the very dessert.

We have eaten in other places in Blere, and this was definitely the best. It was recommended by our B&B host, and we wish we'd taken her advice earlier. Although specialising in galettes, they also do salads and a few meat dishes. We arrived at 7:45, after which it filled up rapidly. For us, service was very good indeed, but the staff were stretched as the restaurant filled to overflowing. There were large families, couples with babies, retired couples and young lovers. All human life is here.

This place was great - the food was really wonderful. We ate so much we were going to explode. The crunchy chicken salad was huge and delicious and the Carpaccio was fresh and delicious as well. I think they may have been confused because we ordered main courses as well and it took over 45 minutes to bring to us. But twice they came to ask if we want coffee and the check. By the second time we said okay but take the main dishes off the bill and they said it was too late. I understand they were very busy that night but at least pay attention and do check backs. Sorry, I don't like to give negative reviews, especially since the food was GREAT, so please use this to help train your staff.

Just returned from a week's stay at this stunning Hotel/Restaurant near the Cher which is in the centre of Bléré - the front entrance is in the square, the rear entrance is opposite their gated private parking area (very convenient and not always available in hotels in small French towns). Been here once or twice every year for 15 years and over recent years it has got even better under the guidance of its owners/managers Alain and Claire Guinoiseau! The hotel exudes calm and tranquility. The accommodation is very tasteful and comfortable, and the hotel areas are clean and tidy. The swimming pool looked very inviting this year! The food is wonderful. Well beyond what would be expected from a local hotel/restaurant like this - it is of the highest quality, but served in a very relaxed ambience. One tip - if you need anything, do not hesitate to ask. Everyone at the hotel and in the restaurant is always ready to help. English is spoken if needed. Fancy a relaxing drink after a day's sightseeing, or a pre-prandial? They offer a drinks menu setting out a range of beers (some on tap), aperitifs, wines, spirits, soft drinks, and tea and coffee etc which, weather permitting, can be enjoyed on their lovely terrace or at tables outside the hotel entrance beside the town square - ideal for people watching! We travel a lot in France, but this hotel beats anything we have experienced elsewhere when everything is taken into account. For us, it ticks all the boxes. And the Loire attractions and chateaux are on your doorstep (but happily not the madding crowd!). The hotel is very helpful if you need information regarding the sights, chateaux, and local wines.Guess what! We're going back in a couple of months â¦

Craft beer brewery with light snacking/appetizers one block from the Chateau d'Amboise. Beer is brewed on site and served on draft or sold in bottles/growlers for takeaway. Appetizers feature local charcuterie, cheese, and homemade tapenades. Tours and be
I have been visiting Amboise for thé last 40 years. Not a lot changes there. So I was very surprises by this café/brewery. We took a plate with 4 small glasses for 8 euro. Unfortunately no explanation. So I can only Tell you it was not our kind of beer (Taste). Maybe it is best to developpe 1 good beer and then go off thé another. Also the cola and limonade was not our Taste. But we can encourage new things happening in AmboiseIt's true we are brand new and we are glad you found us! It sounds like you tried our flights or "dégustation" which includes our 4 signature beers; Chromatic Cream Ale, Abstract Amber Ale, Iridescent IPA, and Sepia Export Stout. I apologize for a lack of explanation in the moment, perhaps it was a busy time or an accidental oversight. None the less, these are American style craft beers brewed with local French ingredients. They are unique compared to other beers found in the area. We have received lots of positive feedback and we welcome people to get out there and try something new! All 4 of our recipes were developed with a lot of time and attention with multiple tastings and feedback from beer drinkers from an array of backgrounds. We are always eager to get more feedback. Please feel free to email us a more detailed account of your critiques of each individual beer in contrast with their beer style. As for the lemonade and cola we sell local products to support our local economy and realize that they are not always what everyone expects compared to more industrial mass-produced products. However, they are high quality and we feel like that's what counts. Thank you for your feedback!
