Firstly and most importantly the menu has been revamped and so much more is now on the menu. Making this undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Blantyre. Jungle Pepper easily gives everyone a good run for their money. With Carla and Helga manning the fort and running everything themselves they have hit the nail on the head and come out with a new vibe and atmosphere that keeps drawing everyone in. It is recommended to make a reservation as it fills up quick. Sad that there is not enough shelter during the rainy season. Food is amazing with everything being authentically Portuguese. Our favourite is the Portuguese steak with egg, rice and chips. Then indeed would be a close second with the Portuguese chicken which should honestly be ordered in advance as it is cooked fresh. Pizzaâs have been consistent ever since they opened many years ago. JUST WISH THERE WAS BACON AND HAM!!!

Although the ala carte menu is mouth watering, the best gastronomic experience here is with the buffet. There is enough variety to satisfy all sorts of tastes and palates. And for the adventurous, the desserts are a honey trap especially for the sweet toothed. Definitely a place to go to when wanting to dine with friends, family, work colleagues or with a significant other. You will never regret dining here.

The best Italian restaurant in Blantyre, Hostaria has a tradition and reputation like no other. Whether you come here for lunch or dinner, you will always have the comfort of a traditional Italian home cooked meal which you can enjoy with family, friends, work colleagues or a significant other. This place will never disappoint. The food is fine Italian art that melts in your mouth and stays in your memories forever. The menu is also varied catering to all types of palates and needs. Even vegetarians will have a serving of manna, Italian style.

In the historic Mandala House together with the historic society and the La Caverna Art gallery and store
La Caverna is a lovely oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of Blantyre. The cafe has Italian style food made with care and awesome homemade lemonade. The cafe is based in a historic Blantyre building, one of the first 2 story buildings in Malawi which is worth visiting also.
