We reached the restaurant around 7:30pm, and it was a quiet Thursday evening with only 3 other tables occupied (total of 10 tables in the restaurant).Ordering was straightforward as they have an English menu, although the servers don't speak English, we managed to communicate to each other. The crepe dough is 100% organic flour and its crispy on the outside but soft in the inside. Very great crepes! We ordered a salad to share, and each of us have our own crepe. For the dessert, their crepes are slightly softer (not so crispy).I highly recommend this place!Thank you very much for your avis.I'm happy to see you soon in this restaurant. The Direction.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant! Japanese-French fusion, expertly done by chef Kunihisa Goto. The service is impeccable and watching the staff work the room like a perfectly choreographed ballet is a joy. Each dish was exquisitely presented and inventive. We had the Wagu beef for our main and it was out of this world! The wine that es recommended to accompany it was perfect. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is quite pricey, possibly because of its location but also, we went a la carte. A menu dégustation was about 80 euros each without wine. But well worth it as you get all the amuse bouches and mignardises etc. Go soon as I am sur Mr Goto will soon be awarded his second Michelin star and youâll be lucky to get in! Outstanding.

This is a small place at a crossroad just one and a half kilometers from the picturesque village of Barbizon. And although Barbizon offers variety of very good restaurants yet people take pain to come and visit this restaurant. The moment you open the door you are warmly welcome by Natalie the host and the owner of the restaurant. The interior decoration was done by the owner with her own hands and it is gorgeous with nice attention to very fine details. The food is great. The menu is very short but the restaurant change menu every two days. You visit it once and I am sure you will come again.

Had a 3 course meal in the cellar. Very nice experience. Excellent food. Art piece look on all courses. Service good. Will try again later.

We wanted a light evening meal and were relieved to find this crêperie amongst Barbizon's fairly posh eateries. We went for a salad each, rather than a galette, and were stunned by the copious fillings. My salade campagnarde at about 12 euros included two slices of jambon cru, a slab of pâté de campagne, a great mound of mixed salad and some rather nice 'lukewarm potatoes', as the quaintly translated menu has it. My wife's salade océane included plenty of smoked salmon, avocado and more mixed salad. We weren't hungry by then, but couldn't resist finishing off with a basic crêpe beurre/sucre. Very nice. We ate in the courtyard. The service was fine.

Great little family-run restaurant which we chanced upon while staying in the area. Well worth driving a little way out of Fontainebleau for good quality, home-cooked food and friendly, engaging service. As former restauranteurs ourselves we are usually disappointed when dining out but not here! Lovely evening and very welcoming of our dog (having been turned away from a restaurant in Fontainebleau). It is always a good sign when the menu is small that the food is freshly prepared. We wish the team every success and will be sure to return when we are next in the area.Hello Jen M,Usually disappointed and you've appreciated our restaurant, what a pleasure for us.We expected to see you again, with your lovely dog. But perhaps it will be in your new project of restaurant. We wish you also pleasure and success.

We arrived before 7.30 pm, asked to look at the carte, decided to eat and were brusquely shown to a table under the trees on the terrace. Alll very picturesque, until it started to rain! Got up to move indoors & were told we couldn't, that it was only a shower! However, it became heavier. nobody had taken our order, so we decided to leave & then discovered that another group were heading indoors so we followed them. Nothing was set up inside, finally we were reluctantly shown a table and then WAITED!! At least half an hour before our order was taken, and several others who came in after us had had their orders taken. It was really like a farce so we decided it must be "meal AND entertainment". Had trouble explaining exactly what we wanted to order, even though we did so in French, BUT it then arrived very quickly and was excellent. So you never know!

Season's cooking with fresh food.
Me, my wife and our 8 months baby just tried to have dinner at this stupid restaurant. It was a awful experience. We arrived while the restaurant has just opened and it was totally empty, without a very single client. However, the hostess (perhaps the owner) didnât allowed us to enter because of our babyâs stroller (poussette). They didnât show any kindness or flexibility to receive us, in spite of the desert dinning room.A dinner is the perfect moment to share with the family. If a baby is not welcome in a restaurant, this place cannot provide a true dinner for anyone. It was awful and really sad.How to explain to a customer who does not want to understand anything:we have reservations.and no more opportunity to place them with a stroller. We ended the service with 35 covers, so stroller or not NO MORE PLACE either at 19h (opening of the restaurant or not). That you do not understand that ... which of us 2 is stupid. Our room is relatively small, so remove a table to put a stroller: NOThank you

I decided to give the fish restaurant Le Relais a second chance. I was there last summer - and was quite disappointed, but my husband really enjoys fish, so this is the place to go in Barbizon. We arrived at 19.45 and got a good table. Snacks were served - ok, but nothing to rave about - and before we had finished them, the first course was served. There was a stressful atmosphere - and the locals got much better service than the few tourists who were there. Our first course - lightly fried tuna steak in soya and minced fish (salmon, etc) were delicious. We asked one of the many young waitresses to please leave some time before serving the main course. She didn't understand our poor French, nor English. In the end a mature woman who understood English turned up - and understood our request. My husband had fish baked in salt with ratatouille, which was excellent. I had lobster pieces with mashed potatoes, mashed carrot and vegetables that tasted like heated frozen peas and carrots. The combination was really not elegant and had a very bland taste. At 49 euro for the lobster, it was quite a rip-off. It's the last time, I will visit Le Relais despite its attractive outdoor setting due to the quality of service and lobster.

Lovely welcome to the restaurant. Been here several times before and not been disappointed. Very nice home cooked food with good portion size, Chicken in sauce was very nice and popular, seemed that everyone was ordering the chicken, mushrooms and mashed potato with truffle oil. The potato, I could have eaten with nothing else it was so good.Lamb was very good too, and lots of it, partner wondered if it was going to end!Can recommend this place. Will be back!
