Awesome cafe with delicious food, spend an afternoon with friends to have late lunch and cocktails here on my short vacation last month. The service is nice, fast and friendly, the taste was awesome, and the price is acceptable. Gonna visit again in future.

The East is Aston Balikpapan's breakfast buffet restaurant. The resto is by the swimming pool, looking to the ocean. The view is good in the morning or afternoon. The resto provides salads, rice, bread variety, shabu shabu (steamboat), indonesian, chinese and european food, and cakes.

Very good pub with cold beer and attentive staff. The service was excellent. The food was very good. The band on Friday night was 1st class and the band on Saturday night was average to good.

Colors Restaurant is on the second floor of the Novotel in Balikpapan, it is not well used by the people of Balikpapan, but, should be because it is a gem that needs to be used.I went to Colors with my girlfriend.When we arrived at the restaurant we were guided to a table by a very helpful waiter, offering a choice of tables in the restaurant, including an option for eating outside by the pool.The menu offered to the diner was pure European, with a Mediterranean/Italian bias, there was no Asian food offered on the menu.My girlfriend ordered cream of tomato soup, followed by, Fillet Steak, with Baked Potato and Buttered Spinach.I ordered Carpaccio of Beef and parmesan cheese followed by Pizza Marinara.The service from the waiting staff was attentive and professional, far more than experienced in other Balikpapan restaurants.Before any food arrived, our drinks arrived.I ordered Bintang Draught beer and my girlfriend had Ginger tea.Before our starters arrived, we were offered a good variety of breads, with butter.We were encouraged to take two types of bread, good service.The soup arrived with an oversized crouton, along with my Carpaccio of Beef and very finely grated parmesan cheese.The starter food was generally good, but with a little extra care from the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director, they could have been excellent; with small crispy croutons and shaved Parmesan Cheese, rather than Kraft Parmesan powder.If the cheese was grated in the kitchen, the qualities of the cheese were lost due to the fine grating.When the mains arrived, the steak was cooked exactly as requested (medium to well done), but the accompanying vegetable choice was not so good; the buttered spinach was too salty (indicating no quality control through tasting by the chef).The Pizza I had ordered was cooked in a Pizza Oven and served on a wooden Pizza âplateâ; in general it was a very good pizza, with a thin base and not too much topping, technically I would say it needed a little more Pizzaiola sauce to add to the quality of the product served.My girlfriend was very happy with the steak as well as the jacket potato.I was happy with the Pizza and I would go as far as saying it was the best Pizza I had eaten in Balikpapan.After the main meal there was a selection of pudding items offered; my girlfriend wanted strawberries with mint and lime juice; unfortunately this was not available because there was no fresh mint and no fresh lime available (there was in the supermarkets).We suggested a substitute combination, which was accepted, fresh strawberries, with freshly squeezed orange juice.The menu was not very flexible, but the staff were, which was a very pleasant experience compared to a normal Balikpapan dining experience.We finished our meal, relaxing, by looking over the pool and chatting to the restaurant supervisor.Our bill came to just over Rp1million, which was very reasonable, I had two beers and we had fillet steak as well as the Best Pizza in Balikpapan.I will returnAshley Gibbs FIH

The only restaurant that keeps in standard in balikpapan. Comparable to 4 stars hotel's restaurant. I never have any single complaints against the food, the waitress, the server! The mexican food is 10 out of 10. Steak is 7 out of 10. The ribs is 8 out of 10. And the pasta - our favourite will be the homemade shredded beef cooked al dente spaghety. Kids love it.Not for coffee lover. Skip the coffee menu and go to juice option instead.

The restaurant is in the main road near airport, facing the sea. Beautiful trees and interesting huts were placed strategically. Great area for photo shoot, read that they are charging 1 million for pre wedding photo shoots. Only ordered snacks so cant comment on the food.
