We came with a group of 35 highschool boys and made a reservation a few days in advance. Paying 15 euro per person, we had bruscetta, pasta (seconds if you wanted it), a meat with potatoes, and a delicious homemade desert. The guys were stuffed! They put us in the "grotto" or underground cavern, which dates back to the Etruscan period. On our last night in Orvieto we enjoyed a beautiful meal at this lovely restaurant, in the heart of Orvieto. Friendly and helpful staff, a complimentary Prosecco to start, as well as canapes, after discussion with staff we decided on wild boar stew for my man and for me Irish beef and rosemary, served with baked potatoes, an a beautiful bottle of red local wine. All beautiful!Good helpful staff, lovely atmosphere, thoroughly recommend this classy restaurant in downtown Orvieto.

Helpful and friendly waiter who spoke decent English. We ate: Insalata Caprese, pasta with Cinghiale (wild boar) sauce, pasta with Truffle shavings. All of them were amazing: simple, string, tasty, and well-priced.

They seem to be saying and doing everything to produce a good meal but when it arrived it was just average. It's like they had looked up in a book what to do but not learnt how to do it.I do not remember you, and I don't know if and when you came. I regret the contents of the review as you express a simple opinion on the fact that we just "copy the recepies written in the books", which is actually something entirely far-fetched. You could spare you this offensive expression, commenting simply that you don't like the dishes.After all we can not like to everyone

We took notice of other trip advisors' feedback and enjoyed our evening at Il Malandrino Bistrot Our waiter was very helpful indeed with wine suggestions ($$$) however we enjoyed the excellent choice. No pizza available at lunch time, which was big disappointment. They had some daily specials but those were not offered to foreign tourists proactively, just like house wines were obviously also only for Italians and tourists were offered bottled more expensive ones. Pastas were good as expected, but next time will prob go elsewhere.

We were so lucky to stumble on this 150 year old family run butcher store/restaurant. Omg!! It was amazing and we absolutely loved our steak so much that we had to eat another one right after. Highly recommended!!!
