I choose this place for a special occasion to meet my family after fifteen years. The are Hungarian and and were deeply dissapointed of the quality of the food. Babgulyás had a massive chunk of fat swimming in the soup, the meat in the pörkölt was tough. Somlói dessert was watery and tasteless. During the meal the waiters did not approach us checking how is everything with the meal. We paid as my family felt awkward to make a fuss on the spot as we haven't seen each other for such a long time. I wish I could turn back the time we wasted there..
Loved it all, disliked , nothing !!! Wish I was there. The owners prepared a beautiful breakfast, on daly basis, cold meats, with fresh tomatoes, capsicum etc, Different breads, wit offering fresh omlets. The freshness of the organic vegetables was very noticable., Freshly squeezed juces also, The night menu was also rather extensive with a great variety

I have to agree with most of the reviewers - this place has an amazing location with great views to Balaton and the hills, but the quality of the service really ruins the experience. When you arrive to the place nobody accompanies you to a table so you choose randomly. If that table had been reserved already (of course there is no indication on the table), you have to move and you are even told off because u did not ask for permission to sit down.We had to wait 15 mins until we got the menu after having to shout to the waitress, even though there weren't many guests at all. Whenever we needed stg we had to chase one of the waitresses. Best part: you can not pay by card and the next ATM is 15 minutes away by car. The food is good but not amazing, main is not worth Huf 4k in my opinion.

the place looks almost the opposite from anything you'd expect to get seriously good food in. Surprise! Food was absolutely great -- seriously good at that, not just plain pretentious -- service was super lovely, helpful, amicable, wine lovely and light. All in all, was one of our best food experiences in Hungary. Not worth a special trip of course -- but if you're in the area, highly recommended.

Authentic Hungarian cuisine celebrating our localy grown vegetables, self raised pultry and the finest Hungarian Grey kettle and Mangalica pork farm. The highlight of our wine house is, that our family is producing the famous Szeremley wine and Palinka.
We had to wait 1,5 hours for our meal, the tablecloth was stainy, there were may mosquitos so we could enjoy our meal/wine outside after dark. They are not responding to emails. The waiters were not rude, but could not handle unexpected situtations, busy hours (Saturday nights).

Katica Restaurant is a well frequented, cosy place on the shore of lake Balaton in Badacsony. The place is owned by a family, the stuff and the service is very nice. The food is literally in front of you within seconds and prices are frendly too. You can choose between the indoor and terrace tables and bring your children with you if you like. Higly recommended place if you want to spend a lovely meal with your family or friends.

The iconic Hungarian restaurant high on Badacsony hill
Glad to have our motorcycle to climb the hill(some ppl were walking!- yay for them). Enjoyed a perfect lunch with sweeping views as we gobbled up the chefâs platter ( charcuterie) with mounds of tasty cheese, meats, dried fruit and yummy bread, etc. we had the pea soup and the goulash soup. Both good( but I prferrred the pea soup)Dear BarbTacoma_WA,Thank you for your great rview. We were glad to have you with us! Kind Regards, Peter Torok

I ordered a cake for a family event, two days before the party. It was a gluten-free coconut cake in the restaurant's offer, nothing extra. When I wanted to take the cake on the day of the party, I was sadly faced with the fact that they do not find my order. After some waiting the headwaiter said that the confectioners forgot to make my cake, or the waiter probably forgot about my order. The chief waiter offered me to take a chocolate cake. In the meantime the waiter who recorded my order 2 days earlier chuckled behind the counter. Other guests in the restaurant were also stunned by the incident. The cake was ordered for a child.Maybe this cake is on the menu, but after all I'm not sure that the restaurant's confectioners are able to prepare the gluten-free coconut cake.

I have been at least 50 times at this restaurant . Very good food, looks very nice. It could reach almost a Michelin star, which is rare here around Keszthely. Very nice staff. Small card, with a lot of changes. You wonât find Wiener schnitzel on the menu card Especially the deserts are fantastic and the â rakott krumpli â. Sebastian

When you have found something really special - you want to keep the secret for yourself, and not share with everyone else. Just because it's your own special secret place. If you're on vacation in Balatonlelle, or staying on another side of Balaton Lake, or just passing by on autobahn and looking for a pitstop - drop everything and put Vitorlás Ãtterem on your roadmap. It's a must!I don't have enough words to describe this gastronomic shock, just come and swallow your tongue.
