We both ordered from their 3-course El Menu Diario (11,50⬠for lunch) to sample several of their offerings. Our Server spoke some English. We liked the Migas (bread) with fried egg and the Gnocchi starters. The braised beef with mushrooms in broth entree was also good but the marinated Sardines that came with a citrus salad were very salty. Both the mousse and cheesecake desserts were excellent. We were pleased to have stopped here for lunch while touring.

This restaurant has an Italian themed menu, silent movies playing on a screen on one wall, and U.S. '70's soul music playing too loudly on the sound system. One harried waitress was trying to meet the demands of a full house until her colleague showed up around 9:15. The individual pizza was good but the pasta with cheese sauce was overcooked and gloppy.

This is a restaurant in a courtyard or cloister that is covered and was surprisingly warm for winter - well heated. Not far from the cathedral and avoid the tourist traps nearby. Seemed to be full of Spanish and Italian diners and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We had a long lunch with no hassle to move on. Suckling pig was better than I've eaten in Segovia - the home of that dish. My partner had steak and loved it. Three courses and quite a reasonable price.

Was there last week for a celebration lunch with a friend. Food is exquisite, service very attentive, wine list extensive and very varied. The large windows give an excellent view of the famous city walls. I was blown away by the sheer quality of the food. Would happily return any day!

After walking all morning in beautiful Avila it was time to recharge batteries. Taberna de los Verdugo was the perfect place to do so. Delicious food and very good service. A modern interpretation of classical Spanish dishes. The setup is very nice also. Would definitely recommend it.

Las mejores vistas de Ãvila pueden ir acompañadas de un restaurante de estilo industrial con los mejores productos de la tierra, terraza y un espacio panorámico para que disfrutes de una copa en buena compañÃa.
We came across this little place in a corner street just outside of the walled arrea of Avila, next to the river. It has a bar on top with great Santa Teresa Hamburgers and tapas. And downstairs in a cozy veranda with attentive waiters a well chosen menu with salads, guisos and good meat.Every thing was tasty and well decorated. We had a place to park which is rare and where to put our jackets. We had the suggested wine, very good one and accompanied our meals to perfection.

After spending a blustery morning in Avila visting the impressive sights, we needed a good meal to warm up. I don't eat beef that oftenbut it is the specialty here and it was recommended. Well worth the visit. Great service and food. The specialty was chuletas (rib chops). The wine list was very reasonable and the owner chose a very good tempranillo/pinot/shiraz which cost EU$15. The appetizers, a light morcilla mixture on apples and asparagus mousse were very tasty. The steaks of Buey(ox) were perfectly cooked to our orders with large thin flecks of salt. Deserts of red berry mousse and goat yoghurt with honey (cuajada) were homemade and excellent. Finished off with coffees and complimentary small flasks of galician orujo de huerbas and crema de orujo. Said goodbye to great host and promised him I'd write a review. Here it is. P.S. You might be advised to make reservation.
