Enjoy our unmatched location with the unique view on the mountains surrounding lake Altaussee. We comfort you with fresh products from the region, cooked and served with authenticity and passion. In general, one spends far too little time on the lake shor
We visited the Strandcafe with friends and family as the end of a 3hour hike, and everybody from the bunch has found something to choose from and all have been delighted. The service was very quick, staff friendly, there was no problem to accomodate toddlers, wheelchairs nor dogs, despite the place being quite full.

This is a great "country pub", Styrian style.Excellent schnitzels and chicken salads.Outdoor seating with killer views.Friendly staff wearing lederhosen & good beer!Boom, winner!
the confectionery and the coffee is always good and reliable here and the other cafes within their group. Service is sometimes a bit slow and occasionally grumpy,, depending on which member of staff is on duty.. Sitting outside when the weather is fine is to be recommended

Loserhutte is located in an amazing small ski resort in Aultaussee. The restaurant perches on the edge of the mountain with amazing views. The food is good too with efficient Teutonic service!

Ofcourse is sitting in a place with such a great view awesome in the first place but we also had a very good lunch here with the family. I personally had the Seewiesenwurstel (8,80 euro) and that tasted very good. Service was very kind and friendly. Prices are perhaps a little higher than normal but not extreme.

We have been several times to Altaussee in the winter for skiing as well in the summer to enjoy the dramatic mountain scenery. If you want pseudo jet-set, go to other destinations... altaussee is known for its elegant understatement, beautiful scenery and quality hospitality. In that respect we were amazed to find this little gem called Geiger Alm.We went for lunch which was very popular with families and we loved the atmosphere of the service and laid back guests. The menu consists of very reasonably priced classics such as schnitzel, burger and macaroni cheese but the quality was beyond standard. So we decided to try out their evening service and were blown away!!!The evening menu is more of a fine dining selection with locally resourced produce and is executed so well, they deserve a Michelin star! And yet itâs affordable with a 4-,5- or 6-course menu ranging from â¬43 to â¬62 per head. Also their selection of wines is great with specialities of smaller wine producers as well as a fine selection of champagnes if you want to splash out a bit extra.Eva and Martina are authentic, friendly and super passionate hosts and made our evening most enjoyable. We really had a great feeling about this venue and can recommend it to everyone who enjoys good food and service.

This place is just wonderful,, very simple yet very good by all means, food is soo fresh and delicious Iâve dined there twice and probably would have gone again if I stayed longer,, the simple decoration in the middle of the woods with the spectacular views of the lake makes the dining experience absolutely in the nature with good food and service... seriously do not miss the saibling fish as it is as fresh as possible coming directly from the lake in front of you .... just perfect!

Friendly staff and fantastic food. The burgers were brilliant, especially recommend the Farmer Burger (Bauern Burger) - served with a potato Rösti and not a bun. Usual favourites on the childrenâs menu. And a variety of choices for dessert or ice cream. A great place to sit and relax and enjoy great food and mountain views.

This is a new restaurant next to the jagdhaus. Beautiful designed wooden structure with a nice dancing floor next to the lake. The place is serving regional cuisine with outstanding quality. Very charming multilingual staff help to create a top notch place.Very much enjoyed the place and service with an impressive view of the Dachstein and the surrounding mountains.Highly recommended stop over on your trek around the lake.

Drive up the mountain from Altaussee to find this traditional hut/ restaurant/ hotel. We went after seeing the traditional music evening advertised (Tuesday night), a guitarist and excellent accordionist playing traditional Austrian music. You should book....we asked our hotel to phone for us.The goulash was excellenta.aThe wins list only shows wines of 1/8 litre.......ask for house wine and you'll get a very full glass.Lots of Austrians there says a lot about the quality.
