Lovely traditional and well maintained building and restaurant. Very pleasant, helpful, patient staff (our German is a bit rubbish - they spoke far better English!), separate children's menu and activities to keep them busy and a nice selection of italian styled food. Nice way to spend a leisurely lunchtime as a family.
Treat yourself to a meal at the Hotel Restaurant Lwen! The restaurant serves good plain cooking. Holidaymakers and business people like having long stopovers at the Lwen. They enjoy its familiar and easygoing feel out on the terrace in the summer or i
Hi, I had a pleasure to dinner in this kind risto.I found a kind persons supporting me in the choice the best dish and beer. The beef with green pepper was very good at the right price (for Swiss!!).Also the beer was fine but thay have a limited choice!I payed about 40CHF that is quite good! Thanks and I hope to come back.Bye.

Went there this July. Easy to find off the road (Bonhofstrasse) parallel to train tracks. Place was busy with guests but still had room for us under the terrace. We were adressed and seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Food was good! Two pizzas fed three of us (with beers). Stonebaked pizza, with crust to order (if you can speak German or gesture your way to success). I had one with salami and it was delicious. It came with an included small appetizer too. Cost ranged 16-20 Swiss Francs per pizza. They had some great looking pasta too, they were around 25 Francs per dish. I would bring friends there again.

We have been looking for some alternatives to eat our beloved Cordon Bleus and found the Restaurant Krone. The service there was good, nice ambient, food tasted really great. The only negativ thing is the price - also compared to other restaurants, it seems quite expensive.

Family owned Hotel & Restaurant. Enjoy your meals in our atmospheric restaurant or in our green garden in summertime.
Restaurant design is modern but cosy. Nice garden. Very friendly service. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, interesting choice of wines. We had lamb and piccata with risotto and vegetables, quality was outstanding and prices are very moderate for Swiss standards. We left it to the waiter for choosing the wine, his recommendation was perfect. So don't look for another place, the "Weingarten" is number one in Affoltern!

The problem is, the restaurant has such a local reputation that you have rather high expectations and looking at the prices, you might assume they are justified. It was not bad, but already coming in the head of service let us feel, how lucky we are and we should be honored to get a table for two. We arrived at 6pm and we were told they are more or less fully booked on a Wednesday, even so looking at his tablet with the table reservation it showed about 1/3 reserved at the most.I have ordered a Sirloin steak 300g (Entrecote), medium well. Damage 50CHF no side order apart of a few sauce samplers. Fries or others would have been additional 7CHF.The steak comes from open fire, nice crust very flavourful, it was not bad at all.But it would have been nice if they would put a little butter or olive oil on it so it doest look so try.after asking twice I did get some bread, the rolls where fresh and also nice. After a few minutes the waiter came and asked if things are fine; I asked him what do you think; pointing at the steak. He though the it was wrongly cooked, I said no, but it was rapped! after the 3rd slice the plate was full of blood, showing me the chef, just put it on the hot grill and straight to my platte and he didnt give the steak any time to rest. An absolut shame doing this to a steak and nothing I expect in a Steakhouse.Maybe and just maybe the owner should spend less time drinking wine in the restaurant and give some attention to the kitchen output.

Convenient â Itâs right next door to the Holiday Inn Affoltern AM Albis. We were hungry and walked next door.Expensive â If food is very good, I donât mind paying for it. Switzerland is expensive and so I get that but the food should still be excellent to warrant the price.Taste â For the price this place is charging for a pizza and pasta, it should be excellent. It was just edible. It wasnât horrible but it was bland. If this place is your only option for supper come here but if youâre slightly hungry, there is a convenience store not far from the hotel.
Top 10 Swiss food in Affoltern am Albis, Canton of Zurich, Switzerland

After moving to Affoltern am Albis, my family and I always wondered about Central: the restaurant was always busy on the weekends. We finally tried it out when my parents visited and were very happy with the experience.Staff was friendly and helpful (especially with a small child). Decor was a touch better than the typical Swiss style of bright lights, wood panelling, etc. That being said, it was "warm" and "cozy" and a generally a nice place to be.Dinner was traditional European fare, however the restaurant also specialises in Steak Tartar. So much, so they have an entire menu card devoted to different styles of tartar. My wife and parents went for warm food, which looked nice (albeit I didn't taste it). My tartar was to die for: fresh, lots of flavour, and a nice solid spicy kick.Prices were above average for a Swiss night out, with the total meal (including some drinks) of well over CHF 300. Nonetheless, it was a very nice experience and I would happily go back.
