It lies about 4 miles (6 km) east of Blackburn, 6 miles (10 km) west of Burnley, 13 miles (21 km) east of Preston, 20 miles (32 km) north of Manchester city centre and is situated on the mostly culverted River Hyndburn. First time here today and it was a great experience. Tastefully decorated the atmosphere was warm, welcoming and comfortable Waiting staff were untroubled and attended to our every need respectfully and also dealt with an awkward customer successfully and respectfully Our food was promptly served from the open and clean kitchen and was âproper tasty and hotâThis place needs another visit from us. Weâve found a good one

2nd visit to Scholars restaurant. And yet again it didn't disappoint. Every course was superb. I had the most amazing soup stater. Followed by Lancashire cheese pie, vegetables and sauce. Chocolate mousse and ice cream. My wife had Thai fish cakes starter. Beef Wellington with vegetables for main. Lemen posset for desert. All were first class food. And you can also have a nice glass of wine. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. 5 stars for us. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, you support and feedback is appreciated. We hope to see you at Scholars again soon.

This is my go to place for all things pizza. Great selection of quality ingredients used on there vast selection of pizzas. The pasta dishes again are soo tasty. My favourite dish is now the Calzone it's to die for. And to watch them hand spinning the bases and not use premade frozen bases is what sets them apart. Their attention to detail is fantastic

Traditional Italian restaurant with warm and friendly atmosphere, excellent service. Very accomodating of my choice of meal as not on the menu but should be, as very delicious. Seafood risotto. House wine is very nice too. Visited here last week to celebrate my birthday with 8 others. We chose from a mixture of menus, including the children's menu. We couldn't fault any of the food, or the way we were looked after, however we felt that we had a very long wait before our food arrived. A couple of our group were also quite cold. I enjoyed mussels, spaghetti con gamberoni and creme bruise ( with a candle in and happy birthday sung)
