After 3 weeks of injera, rice with vegetables, and roast chicken, it was a pleasure to have a wonderful avocado salad, which was more than just lettuce and tomatoes. The salad was quite large, and there was a lot of avocado. The outdoor eating area is nice and peaceful, even though it's on a busy street.

Good atmosphere, slightly surreal to find a rodeo style western bar in Addis. We went midweek, it was not that crowded, I expect that the bar area is busy at the weekend and will be lively. The food is mainly steaks or kebabs. My friend and I ordered beef kebab. It tasted quite gamely at the time but didn't think much of it, unfortunately we were both ill the following morning, I think meat was off.Perhaps go for a drink and eat elsewhere.

I spent 2 nights in addis in transit on a business trip and wanted to try some local food and music. I think there are a few tourist traps in the city but this is not one of them.I was traveling alone and arrived on a Friday night just after 6pm. Food was really good, i had a cooked traditional beef dish that i requested them to make a but spicy. Most staff could not speak english really well but one of the guys at the bar could and was very helpful. The live music upstairs is awesome and at some point guests get to join in. Really is worth a try when in Addis. There's a local honey wine that i did not sample but its supposed to be good.Wine selection is limited and are mostly sweet wines but they did have one Italian merlot. Its set in a beautiful garden and is an old but well maintained building. Bathrooms are very clean which is always a plus.

Good Foodie Place with Unfortunate Disaster Lying in WaitGreat food, though one potentially dangerous incident occurred...We had a good time here experiencing Ethiopian food, culture, dance, and singing. People (both staff and customers) were friendly and happy to be in the packed restaurant. However, when departing the restaurant, the staff maitreâd created a potentially dangerous incident with the return taxi to the hotel. He directed us to an old beat-up car without any signs of being a taxi or having the typical meter (yes, a meter is normally used in Ethiopia just like everywhere else in the world), calling it a "taxi." When we asked him to help us find a reputable (and verifiable) taxi, he refused, leaving us on our own well after-hours in the middle of the streets of AddisPositives+ the restaurant is a bit hard to find so definitely recommend asking your hotel or someone knowledgeable to help â all taxis should know about the location because itâs a high-quality tourist trap+ really good Ethiopian food including injera and other typically-Ethiopian curried foods. The veggies are tastier than the meat items, but that doesnât mean you canât try both+ great Ethiopian dancing, singing, and cultureNegatives- The restaurantâs maîtreâd is a nasty guy. He attempted to put us into an unmarked, dingy looking car claiming it was a taxi (when obviously it was not). When we told him we would like a real taxi, he left us to fend for ourselves instead of assisting. We were lucky that another taxi dropping off passengers at the restaurant came by, so we took that back to the hotel as it seemed safe. All in all, the overall experience was destroyed by the maîtreâd â otherwise it would have been fantastic. If the restaurant reads this post, hopefully they will act. Its customersâ safety should be of paramount importance

The Diplomat Restaurant reflects the diverse international culture of Ethiopia, with a culinary experience that embodies traditional dishes and avant garde creations. Delve into a culinary journey that will culminate in nothing less than pure bliss. We of
Tucked away on the 5th floor of an office block is Diplomat. As a first time visitor with no reservation, I was warmly and genuinely welcomed by the Manager, Addis (easy name to remember here!). A healthy, complimentary salad bar, then a good choice of fish, chicken and meat, as well as local Ethiopian dishes. Remember that landlocked Ethiopia is reliant on daily supplies of fresh produce from abroad, and donât blame them if a dish or 2 is unavailable. Super friendly service, and well priced. Go and meet Addis. You wonât be disappointed.Dear Airportroamer,We are so grateful for your amazing feedback! So glad you enjoyed your self at our restaurant and that you were so happy with the service and the staff. And we also like to thank you for acknowledging the manager hope you come back soon.

The traditional dance followed by a sumptuous dinner made my day. Loved every bit of the meal and Injaras. Am in love with Ethiopian food and Habesha beer. The service was top notch and the wait staff were always smiling. The interior was done up well with Traditional touches everywhere.

Great Location at the new business district of Addis. Food is mostly cultural and good quality, price is a little higher compared to other restaurants around and the drinks and cultural dances are the best in town. Although, everything starts after 7:00 PM local time. (at night).

Kategna is Ethiopian traditional restaurant known for its way of valuing tradition with international service standards!
Still my favorite restaurant for delicious Ethiopian food (both fasting and non-fasting). As to my knowledge, Kategna is located in 3 places in Addis and all of them serve the same delicious taste/flavor is (guaranteed) every time consistently. The price is also reasonable compared to other similar restaurant.

Yod Abyssinia is where culture meets arts and cuisine. There are performances of various tribes in Ethiopia, the dance, the singing, the food, the people, the aroma, the local delicacies will be forever memorable. THIS IS A MUST! The shows are live and the dances exhilarating. Amazing. Ethiopia is indeed the Land of Origins.
