Reviews on Emilian food in Ravenna, Province of Ravenna, Italy. Ravenna once was the capital of the Byzantine Empire in Italy, and it still has amazing mosaics recalling that heritage. Also make sure you visit Dante's tomb, as well as the little pile of rubble where local residents hid his urn during WWII to prevent it from being damaged.

We were actually looking for another restaurant nearby but, it was closed and luckily and thankfully, we came across this place. We only wanted a pizza basically but, I ended up having anchovies with bread for a starter that I really liked and followed up with a basket of fried seafood that I really liked...it was like tempura actually. Loved it! My partner had a pizza that he enjoyed a lot. The service was really great and if I lived around there, I would definitely go back as it seemed to be a locals place anyway. The older gentleman waiter spoke good english as well.Thank you very much for your review and we are very happy that in bad luck you have found a place to your liking. We hope to see you soon

This restaurant is located on the main road to Ravenna, next to the motorway exit. It has a large parking, a sort of aviary zoo with different types of birds (flamingos, storks, etc...) and a landscaped garden used as photo background. The environment makes it a popular choice for wedding banquets, although it had a sort of melancholy feeling, not to mention the swarms of mosquitoes. The restaurant itself is enormous and it looks a bit like an industrial building filled with tables. We arrived at opening time, on a Tuesday night and were seated close to a large TV screen. Luckily the volume was off. The large room was promptly occupied by numerous families with noisy children. We ordered antipasti misti to share and due pizze, which were served on a wooden tray, in a nice presentation. We also had a carafe of white wine followed by one coffee and one grappa. The food quality was reasonable and the price fair. However, there was a mistake in the bill (they added two of the notorious âcopertiâ, as if we were four people instead of two). They were gracious enough to acknowledge their mistake. However, we will never know if the mistake was intentional or otherwise. Moreover, the restaurant totally lacks intimacy and atmosphere and I would not recommend it, unless you like the industrial feeling, lots of noisy children, TV screens and mosquitoes.

Our lunch at La Gardela was delicious, delicious and service was excellent. The restaurant is well located for the magnificent sites Ravenna has to offer. We ate outside and, despite the restaurant being very busy were served quickly with delicious food which was moderately priced.

I PASSATELLI , 1962 THE MARIANI TRATTORIA The name of our trattoria in the centre of Ravenna, âPassatelli 1962â, conveys the importance we attach to the regionality of our products; from the preparation of homemade, hand-rolled pasta and traditional Romag
In downtown beautiful Ravenna, there is this interesting and pleasant trattoria. Passatelli. Originally it was a cinema Theatre and the old feeling has been kept despite the modern and intriguing, yet beautiful renovation. The food is very good, (even for vegans and vegetarians), the service friendly and efficient. The name Passatelli comes from a very traditional meal in this area, a home made pasta based on parmesan cheese and eggs.Really worth a visit.

This little restaurant with a staff of three produced one of our best meals in Italy. Simple, fresh food presented well, and a decent wine list all at very good prices. Not surprisingly, most of the clientele were locals who recognise good value and good food.

A jewel of the Liberty style: the building, rooms, windows, furnishings, statues, paintings and objects all have a D'Annunzio aura about them. The menu preserves the gastronomic tradition of Ravenna and it serves local specialities with seasonal ingredien
Had a very lux dinner here while staying in Ravenna. We were directed here when I asked for a "local" place. Really good. The restaurant is known for its use of truffles and we were not disappointed. I started with a bignet with parmesan cream and black truffles; very rich. Then I had truffled risotto; great! The restaurant is an old fashioned place with a garden inside in the back where guests are permitted to smoke--not good, but common. All in all, a terrific meal in a charming setting.

I read the rave reviews and decided to reserve a table. Good thing b/c this place is really small. The owners warmly welcome all diners and then serve them as well. The menu consists of traditional dishes, nothing flashy, but everything done very well.
