Gulyascarda was hands down the best restaurant in town with hefty portions that were easily enough for two. The quality matched the quantity and it wasnât a surprise it was a popular spot with the locals.

We come here often. The meals were ok. I ate "fustolgo puskacso" today. It was really good. The red haired nippy is cute.

good quality Hungarian food in huge portions at very low prices.Tasty soups, good fried fish, nicely presented. The portions were that huge that even locals (there are not many tourists who can find this hidden place...) had to ask for doggy bags. Good service. Only one, for me pricey mistake: When paying with my credit card, the waiter asked me, if I wanted to pay in Forint or Euro. I clearly went for Forint, because I can get a better exchange rate this way. Unfortunately, the waiter issued the payment in Euro, nevertheless... If you pay cash, you will fully enjoy this nice restaurant.

We had family dinner booked at 7.30p.m for 11 people. Without starter all of us ordered mains and I have to say it was enjoyable and tasty, portions are enough, well garnished. Atmosphere is really bad-bad, no buzz at all, lights are too bright, music terrible kind of radio hits...There is something the management need to work on and also service they must reconsidering. After the main course we all wanted to order desserts and after dinner drinks as we were celebrating few occasions. The waitress forgot to mention at the beginning or during service that the place will close at 9p.m. SHARPLY! We all just finished the main course at 8.50. I was surprised there wasn't any follow up... the young lady was standing the other side of the restaurant and pounder out only 2 tables included ours. I went over her at 8.59 to mention we wish to have a quick look on the sweet menu. She said the kitchen closed at 9p.m and nothing was available, I thought she was just joking as I presumed she should say this earlier, isn't it?? What happened after I don't even want to say and share as I really never seen anywhere in the world where I was traveling, its just unbelievable. Customer service failed with a capital f. They seemed to me just wanted to close asap, cmon Monday evening, sad day to work probably and no need business and happy customers around. We all think there are way way much better places in this city Szeged, we picked unfortunately the wrong one. Good luck to you all and I just hope you will be the lucky one with better team on shift a bit better atmosphere and much better customer service if you choose "jobb mint otthon" a place to dine. It wasn't ours!

That restaurant is following Hungarian tradition. Right on the shore of river Tisza, it has the charm of the rural Hungary. You simple can't have better food and service if you are looking for real one not pretentious classy rubbish. The waiters are older guys with handlebar moustache and their cook makes the best traditional food there is. Not healthy, not michelins, only great food. They are very tidy too. At Christmas they make the traditional fish soup for take away. The locals form a queue long on the street with their 10 litre pot in their hand to buy some. Because it is not just as good as homemade but better.

This Hungarian jewel is a well-known restaurant for locals and visitors alike. It features all the well-known Hungarian dishes and each appear to be served up with a traditional flair and a very good taste. We were taken here by those familiar with the cuisine and we were not disappointed. The goulash was very tasty and a considerable portion.

We went there as a large group for a business dinner. Our hosts ordered a few fish dishes as it was the local speciality. The food was just average, mostly river fish which I'm not that crazy about. We also had some wine, but I drank far better than that in Hungary. They closed rather early on a week night so we went to another place.

It is the best place to eat, we will definitely come back again. The waiters are so helpful and friendly. The food is so delicious, huge portions but so tasty dishes. And the prices are affordable, for 2 main courses, 2 desserts, and drinks we paid 25 euros.
