Gothic Restaurant & Cafe

Halfway through our audio guided tour, we took a lunch break in this restaurant. We were not sure what to expect, it might have been a mediocre tourist bistro for all we knew. The interior is carefully selected and gives you a medieval ambiente. The waiters were friendly, helpful and competent. The selection of food was broad but not too big. I can very much recommend the bread basket as a starter. It contains artisan bread and spread (handmade butter and pesto), which taste delicious. We ordered different meat main courses. All courses were cooked close to perfection, the slow-cooked meat dishes tasted amazing and were very tender. The dessert and beer selection was also very tasty.I can really recommend visiting this restaurant, but you either need to be lucky to get a table or you should drop in an hour ahead and reserve a table.

The carrot apple juice was refreshing and reasonably priced. A lot of customers ordered pizzas which looked good. We didn’t try because we were pressed for time. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating, and is close to the train station. I would recommend it esp if you need to rest after a lot of walking at the castle.

The restaurant seems to be very busy usually based on our experience (went there twice). They offer delicious food, however it’s nothing out of the ordinary. Still it’s a decent choice if you are in Malbork and you want Polish food.

The restaurant location is amazing. You can sit on the open terrace and look at the river and the castle. Location is amazing. From my point of view location is even better than for the restaurants in the castle itself.Food is really tasty. We took some ribs and zhurek soup. Definitely worth trying out. I was expecting pretty big prices but these were absolutely adequate.

Staff at nearby campsite recommended this restaurant (10% off the final bill. ) Located 5 minutes walk from the medieval castle on the river bank adjacent to the wooden walk bridge crossing. The restaurant was semi busy on our arrival, we were seated immediately in the awning area adjacent to the riverboat. The decor in functional but the service excellent. Our lovely waitress recommended the Zander main dish for hubbie and I had potato dumplings. Several of our first choices were no longer available that day but we were not disappointed with our meals at all. Both the soups we close and the main meals were filling and excellent. Despite the restaurant's slow food policy, the meals arrived poste haste. The total including wine and beer was £14! In an attempt to improve international relations with the waitress, hubbie attempted a request for the bill and extend our thanks in polish ! Not sure he didn't cause an international crisis but the waitress smiled patiently, a little like humouring a small child! We left a relatively generous tip to express our gratitude for not calling the police for any linguistic offence caused!
