Find out what Eastern European restaurants to try in Giurgiu. Giurgiu (Romanian pronunciation: [ˈd͡ʒjurd͡ʒju] ( listen)) is a city in southern Romania. The seat of Giurgiu County, it lies in the historical region of Muntenia. It is situated amid mud-flats and marshes on the left bank of the Danube facing the Bulgarian city of Ruse on the opposite bank. Three small islands face the city, and a larger one shelters its port, Smarda. The rich grain-growing land to the north is traversed by a railway to Bucharest, the first line opened in Romania, which was built in 1869 and afterwards extended to Smarda. Giurgiu exports timber, grain, salt and petroleum, and imports coal, iron, and textiles.

Walking down the main pedestrian thoroughfare with early shop closing times on a Friday afternoon, I unexpectedly came across this very nicely furnished restaurant. Service was efficient , guidance from the staff timely and the grilled sea bream done beautifully. A great dining experience even for a solitary traveller. Highly recommend.
You want to sit in a quiet good Restaurant than is this the Place. I was surprised about the menu and the food. The menu in 4 languages. Food very good. Service very good. Outside terrace with style. Its a pleasure to stay there. Highly recommend. The only minus: it's hidden between the blocks.
Stumbled on this gem of a place by accident. Is not a typical Italian but lovely food. If you order focaccia there will be a little wait as the bread is baked to order but is so worth it....and the prawns on avocado are delicious. Would also recommend the risotto. This is a super little place but easy to miss. But I'm not uploading a photo, you find it yourself. If you want a relaxing and leisurely meal out this is for you. If you want fast food you know what you can do!

Service was fine and the English menu is well translated. However, they didn't have several of the things we tried to order. The meals we did receive were disappointing. Lamb was dry and very overcooked. Pork steak was decent, but lacking flavor. I never salt my food in restaurants but I found myself liberally applying salt and lemon to it. Fries were cold and soggy. "grilled vegetables" were a (good) pepper and a tomato wedge. For one of the more expensive meals I've had after a week in Bulgaria, it was certainly the most disappointing.

I am a regular visitor to Rousse and I always spend an evening at Tangra during my stays in the city. It's a great place to start the night having a bite of some delicious cuisine offering and a sip of beer from their impressive list of craft brands. Their summer garden is really nice and when a championship is going on you can watch a game of football or volleyball, or a boxer round. In winter, the house inside is bright and cozy shunning bad weather and ill moods and leaving them outside. I like the place and would definitely recommend it to both visitors and local people.
