For only a few euro you'll get a plate full of food. Like a croissant, homemade confiture, butter, coffee or tea with some sweets. We had this for a special offer â¬5.The kids were provided with some toys but more nice was a special corner, the wall painted so they could draw and write with the colored chalk.Book in advance because it was very busy with families who will stay and stay ;-)The waitresses were very friendly, calm and patient. In the center of Wijchen so also good for your shopping break.

Very stylish restuarant in Wijchen, We had a light lunch with Coffee. The Sandwiches are different style to England. I went for pulled chicken in Barbecue Sauce with Mayo and salad. Good value and excellent standard, Staff are great as they speak excellent English and will help and there looks like a great selection of beers to choose from as well
This is a really nice place to have a quick lunch, I have never actually sat inside although it does look cozy I normally take a broodje warmschink (ham roll with sauce) to take away. Just writing about it makes me want to go back now, but it's almost dinner timeâ¹ï¸

Went here for a pre-concert dinner. Place is in a shopping (outdoor) center and has a little terrace, we got seated inside and got served by a very nice and friendly guy. We had time so we took our time and that was absolutely no problem. When myself was away for a couple of minutes he sat on the table next to ours and had a good chat with my accompanied guest. We felt very welcome. The place itself looks very good, although it was not busy, we felt not 'alone' nice seating in front window(s) then the bar and after the bar even more seating's. Menu was not extensive but had more than enough choices of starters, mains and desserts. We had a (shared) starter and both a main (which we also shared), portion sizes are adequate and the food (we had shrimp pasta and pork-loin satay) was very tasty. We both enjoyed the meals, took another beer (they have local draft and bottled) and left for our concert just 15 minutes' drive away. Would for sure recommend the place, all in all it wasn't cheap but could and would not call it expensive either. Worth a visit!

Not at all an expert on great food and/or wine, I just enjoy a friendly surrounding and good food and that is why this is a very good place to feed!

Café Anneke, I understand, is an unusual one: it was founded by the customers. Just people who wanted to get together for a drink and a chat. About a 150 people funded and built the place. They wanted a pleasant environment to relax in, and it looks like they succeeded. I think that may explain why it was clearly the busiest establishment I saw in the centre of Wijchen. We didn't have much time and only went for a drink and a snack, and both were fine. The freshly squeezed orange juice really was fresh, the hot chocolate was of good quality, and the apple cake was absolutely delicious (handmade by the local bakery, so I was informed). Unusual: looked like a muffin, with cake at the bottom, then a layer of apple, and a crumble top. Served with caramel sauce and whipped cream. Highly recommended!

The menu is excellent, with choices for all tastes. The service is fast and very welcoming. The inner dinning area is very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The outside dinning and table area is perfect for a meal or cold drink with an excellent view of the nearby castle

Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff, the food was fresh and very yummy. We had the scampi in a chili garlic sauce accompanied by a bowl of lovely and crispy fries and a well prepared salad. This is a relaxed and cozy spot and we enjoyed our light dinner to the max.

Sophisticated food in an informal environment which far exceeded our expectations. The reasonably priced 3-course fixed price menu was outstanding, and I enjoyed a generous plateful of tender beef carpaccio followed by a parchment parcel of wild mushrooms accompanying my fish. My companions dined on herb-crusted baked lamb, also declared delicious. Leave room for the deserts, which are stylishly presented. Service was efficient and friendly. We will return!

Initiatives to involve people with physical or mental restrictions in day-to-day social processes will always have my full support, so we decided deliberately to visit lunchroom Brownies & downieS for coffee and cake. Lunchroom Brownies & downieS gives employment to people with the Down syndrome. And how cosy and lively it was! Furthermore, they serve great coffee and cake, but I saw also mouthwatering lunches being served at other tables. This establishment was almost packed to capacity; obviously they are very popular in Tiel. To be recommended and I wish them tons of success.
