First off, the service was abyssmal...never have I experienced such terrible service at a restaurant of such supposed caliber. Mistakes, delays, arguing, negligence and general disregard were the theme.Example 1: Most 3 star restaurants show you(guide/escort) you to the toilets when needed. Not here, they sort of pointed me in the general direction. Not being from NL, I did not quite understand and ended up in the ladies toilet! Server assistants got my requests wrong; dirty plates were left far too long; ingredients missing from a dish and when I mentioned it, I was argued with and basically brushed off...zero concern.Lots of little things were huge misses: the server did not even bother to discuss the wine pairing option with me...rather he just dropped an encyclopedia of wines on me. That was disturbing in of itself...there should be a proper sommelier to speak to the wines!!! During the meal, some times I got a decent description of what was being served, other times a very basic comment.Ultimately, I chose to leave...less than mid way. The food I did have was just ok. The wine pairing was juvenile and thoughtless.Take this tip: go to The Bishop in Leiden or Senses in Ams and you will have a far better experience and food!!!

We were staying at a local Hotel in the town and spotted Bobby's Cafe as we drove past it one day.Called in for a couple of drinks, found it to be a fantastic place...great staff..very courteous..very helpful to a couple of English people who can't speak Dutch.Booked a table for meal a couple of days later. I had the spare ribs....I suggest you starve yourself for a few days to make room for all the food you get.It was SUPERB...fantastic food and drink in a superb little place...I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS.Trust me I'm a Doctor ( I'm not really...bit you know what I mean)...if you are near here then get yourself there.

Located right on the steps to the marina, BomDia attracts visiting yachtsmen like us. In the center of the Dutch lobster and shellfish industry it is obvious that most people go for the local produce. The atmosphere is relaxed and the waitresses are friendly and helpful. I had a gorgeous plate with crab claws and mussels cooked in white wine. Getting the crabmeat out of the claws is a tedious job but taste and quantity is the reward. About the mussels I can only say that I never ever had better ones, cooked exactly to the point. French fries are better in Belgium than in Holland but who cares with such delightful seafood. In Summer the terrace offers a great view on the yachts and reservation is advised. Mussel lovers ,go there ! It's worth the trip and their wines are matching well with the molluscs.

Situated in the yacht harbour of Wemeldinge, this small restaurant is very cosy and a typical place where sailing fanatics will come and have dinner. The service is truly very friendly. This is not a place for formal dining but the food offered is very good and excellent price/quality. Next ti the restaurant is a fine shop for sailing clothing and other stuff.

Every year we make a trip to Zeeland to enjoy the Oosterscheldekreeft (=Zeeland lobster). This year we visited the Oesterbeurs, a nice classic restaurant specialized in seafood. The interior looks nice and (most of) the staff is friendly and attentive. We took the 4 course lobster menu. â¬65 worth of great food!We first got a small dish with a creme made of asparagus and a fried cod fish 'bitter' ball. The creme was perfect, the fish ball was dry and tasteless. Next we found our first course, a salad with lobster and some great taste explosions (crispy bacon, Parmesan cheese, truffle mayonnaise and parsley pesto). My lobster was great but Wing's was a bit dry. Next came our lobster bisque. Just unbelievable!! Best in class example of powerful lobster liquid! Our main course, a grilled lobster each. Very well prepared, very taste, absolutely a big recommendation. It's always a bit of a struggle to finish the lobster (and completely empty every little piece) in a restaurant where it's better to eat with a fork and a knife. Too bad for the others, we came for the food, not for showing good manners! In between main and desert we got a small refreshing dish (rhubarb with yogurt and tarragon). Well picked after quite a heavy meal thus far. The lobster wine we chose paired very well with the different courses. Deserts were really good as well. Definitely a great place to go to enjoy a great local lobster meal!!

Tasting house for oysters, mussels and lobster. Next to this we also have a delicous fruit de mer with a variaty of shellfish.
While I was planning a weekend in the Dutch province of Zeeland to celebrate a friendâs anniversary a Dutch friend suggested a visit to the Oesterij as a special treat. It turned out to be a success. The Oesterij was easy to find on Havendijk, we didnât even have to enter the village of Yerseke and found a parking spot nearby. When we arrived around 4 p.m. the place was still busy, but we didnât have to wait long for a table of four. The Oesterij is an informal kind of place, with people sitting on wooden benches in a veranda-type room overlooking the oyster pits. The atmosphere is cheerful and the staff is helpful and pleasant. We tried two different types of oysters, cooked mussels and lobster soup with a very nice bottle of French Picpoul de Pinet. The shellfish was super fresh and delicious. Fortunately, the Oesterij doesnât serve smelly chips, but just rye bread with butter. Prices were very reasonable. We can definitely recommend this place! There are two Tripadvisor entries for âOesterijâ, one under âSpecialty Food Marketâ (394 Reviews) and one under âShopping, Sights & Landmarksâ (39 reviews). The initial idea, which makes good sense, was probably to separate the eating of shellfish in the restaurant from a visit to the on-site shop selling seafood, kitchen and cooking utensils and other items or to the historic oyster pits and the sheds explaining about shellfish farming. However, reviewers did not heed this distinction.

We had the week menu: a starter, main course and dessert for 17 euro. All dishes were good. People were friendly. Only a little bit confused sometimes. We had to ask the bill twice, as they had forgotten this. Also the wifi pasword we had to ask twice.

Definitely a pub / restaurant, at which they do the fish preparation and cooking the one way (as the parents and grand parents did). It is good, but not an extraordinary culinary experience; there could be more salad with the meal.
