It's hard to find a good place to eat in this neighbourhood. And although Taverne Tomberg doesn't look too fancy from the outside, you immediately feel at home once you've been assigned a table in the spacious and renewed winter terrace or in the cozy, typical Flemish 'brown café' part of this tavern. The owners are very helpful and polite.We ordered two glasses of cava and then tried the homemade 'stoemp with sausages'. Although this is a very basic dish, it tasted absolutely great. The menu has plenty of other meals to choose from, such as penne all'arrabbiata and steak with french fries. For dessert, I had the homemade tiramisu and my partner tried the homemade chocolate mousse. Both were delicious, although not particularly 'light' :)

We had a wonderful dinner here with friends on a Tuesday night. The building is beautiful, as is the restaurant so it was an impressive start. The service is exceptional and our welcome was very warm. We started with the house apero, a vermouth with champagne and red fruit cocktail, on the table was delicious dips and a crisp to enjoy while we were reading the menu. We all went for the 4 course month menu with wines: I'll let the my photographs do the talking but to add everything was amazing! One of the best meals I have ever had. It's not cheap but neither is it Michelin price, however the food is of Michelin quality imho. A great find, we will be back or sure.

The food is well prepared and satisfying. My flemish stew was some of the best I've ever had. The seasonal special of asparagus was a big hit. Service is comfortably slow so plan on making a day of it, Reservations are a must--especially on a nice day.hello, Thank You for the feedback. An enjoyable Saturday night meal with friends in a typical Belgian restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. The service was excellent and Sergei our waiter was very convivial, attentive to our needs and impressed us with his English. The chefs speciality steak is to be recommended.

Nice rural place to sit with different floors. This looks like a popular place as it is very busy. We took a menu with 3 courses. Starter was a little bit disappointing as the spring roll was too dry. The main course was very good for both of us. The dessert was good as well. Also the plates are nicely decorated, so they taste and look good. Price was moderate. Not expensive for what we ate. The portions were very large, so also big eaters will have enough food I think :-)At this place you can also eat a small dish like a spaghetti or something like this.
