On a beautiful location on the harbor of Volendam you can find our superb five star dining pub, with a great view over the IJssellake. We are open seven days a week from 10 am. Throughout the year, Whether winter or summer,'t Havengat welcome's you any da
Popped in here for a quick lunchtime snack and drink. We were attended to quickly although the toasties took a little while before coming to the table but it was worth the wait; they were delicious. The drinks, of which there was a fantastic variety, were delivered quickly. Very pleasant and friendly staff. The staggered seating meant that if you were lucky enough you could have a window seat at the front looking out to the sea.Thank you for the review.

We had lunch here after our arrival in Volendam. Random selection that worked out well. Service was poor enough but we were not too bothered as we were in no hurry and were enjoying the sun and sitting outdoors. Lunch was enjoyed by all. Nothing spectacular but did hit the spot after being up very early for a flight to Amsterdam. There are quite a few choices for eating in Volendam on the quayside but this is one of the better choices.

In the heart of Volendam, on the Embankment at the port, is our restaurant. Villagers and guests from all over the world come to enjoy our daily fine fish or meat dishes. With a beautiful panorama on the IJsselmeer is wining. Superior products, enchanting
We came in attracted by the nice menu, lively atmosphere and friendly staff. All good... only that the mussels that came to our table were closed in an unacceptable percentage (50%-60%). They were clearly not well cooked. Staff understood it, and reordered it to the kitchen, but only for 1 portion (we had ordered 2 portions, which we stopped eating immediately). The new portion was very well cooked and very nice. Unfortunately when the bill came, they tried to bill us for the 2 portions not well cooked... that was not nice. We shared our disagreement and they removed one of the two portions of the bill, so it was eventually fair, but it is not nice when you need to discuss these things, is it? Particularly with mussels, which is somehow a "risky" dish.I think we were unlucky - staff seemed nice and the other dishes seemed quite good. Other customers eating mussels did not have the same issue- as we saw. Nobody likes being the unlucky customer :-)

We did not stay here but had lunch in the restaurant. Outside patio dining. Decent service, excellent food. If a chill is in the air, they offer a blanket. Some areas have patio heaters, otherwise indoor dining.

Eating and drinking at the harbour restaurant De Lunch is rarely a solitary experience. The tables always present a heady and fascinating mix of tourists hailing from all corners of the world, rubbing shoulders with formally attired business people, colle
After a long drive to Volendam we decided to eat out and as one of our party didn't particularly fish I had already researched the local restaurants to find one that had a good selection of non-seafood dishes and had picked De Lunch. And what a great decision that proved to be. The place itself is full of character and lots of charm and located right by the harbour. There is a good selection of dishes, seafood or otherwise and each one of them was tasty; so much so we returned 2 days later for more. Obviously the fish is a must as it is so fresh; I could have eaten there every day.The staff at De Lunch were fantastic, fast and friendly. A special big thanks to Angela and Brian who both took great care of us but all of the staff did a great job. Even knocked up a little unexpected treat for my Dads birthday.

Cozy restaurant in the centre of Edam. All things in the restaurant are for sale, even the chairs and tables.
After walking all over Edam we had chosen this place due to the fabulous eclectic window displays we had seen on our journey and upon entering hours after we still enjoyed the eclectic decor inside. Staff very friendly drinks were cold but I ordered the "Irish beef" hamburger and yes I think it was a joke but I was not laughing. Definitely a frozen very thin patty 2 very small pieces of tomato and a sad piece of lettuce. The roll was too crunchy on the outside from being in the oven too long. â¬12.95 not worth it even with the chips. Hubby asked for the Edam with dark till ended up with a white baguette instead and 2 pieces of Edam a little tomato and lettuce he said enough to taste â¬8. High prices for what was served.keep it fresh like the staff. Rhabks Dear sir/madamNot nice to see this comments. We regret about your points. The hamburger we are going to change after your comment, we made a bigger one with more things on it. (â¬12,50)The Bread you ordered (â¬6,50) is normally Bread with 3 big slices, mustard dill and salad. We think it was too busy for us the moment you came in...It will be a pleasure for us when you have the possibility to come back and take a dinner on our costs.Maybe after that experience you can take this report out of tripadvisor .Edwin Wiersema

We were at restaurant for an early dinner. Menu provided in English which was very helpful. Childrenâs options available. All dishes cooked perfectly and very much enjoyed. Very much fish focused with a few veg and meat options that suited us perfectly. Views of the marina and small sculpture garden. Staff were attentive, polite and funny. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Had the set Wednesday night menu. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Friendly enough to allow our dog into the restaurant with us so we didn't have to sit outside in the cold. A very pleasant experience.
