When we found the online ratings, it didn't seem to fit with our first impression when we approached the building. The place looks a little rough and run down. Although the sign above the restaurant reads "MCM", the facility IS in the blue building across the street from Juniper Books; the sign is on the window identifying it as "Roast and Toast." The place has limited seating, it's completely mismatched, and it's PACKED with customers. We went for brunch on Sunday. We got there around 10am. Thereafter, people who arrived had to wait for seating or sit at their charming diner counter. The servers were timely, cheerful, and kept the coffee coming. My friend and I each ordered a club house and split the fries that came with the combo, because the amount of fries you get with one combo is gigantic. They certainly don't skimp on serving size. Both of us ordered it on toasted rye. The fries are handcut, fresh and SO GOOD. Not only that, but the prices can't be beat. We were shocked at how different our impression was after spending time here. We will definitely be back!Thank you so much for giving us a chance. We are happy you didn't let the building deter you from trying out our food. We are just waiting for the day we can give the place a whole new facelift. We would just love that. The place itself has been running since the 40's and it definitely still has some of that vintage character going on. Right now we've given it it's second paint job in 6 years and in the process of working on some other things. So happy to hear you enjoyed the food and service. Hope to see you back again soon.

Had lunch at Skippy's last weekend. Enjoyed a club house sandwich, a chicken caesar wrap and children's chicken fingers and fries. Food and service was good and restaurant was busy on the Sunday afternoon. Nice little gem on the west side of Windsor.

Decor is 1950s diner. Food very good, service excellent. Prices competitive. $15 to $20 per person taxes and tip included. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the broasted chicken was very good, fries well cooked, brownie dessert was very good. All enjoyed the dinner and friendship. We plan to be back.

Back Road Cafe is a family style restaurant which prides itself in excellent customer service. They are best known for their breakfast, which is served all day, and their delicious homemade foods.
My wife and I recently went for breakfast, for which they are famous. The staff are friendly and efficient. This is not fancy but excellent value. We both had the Backroad Special breakfast, which consists of two eggs to your choice plus ham, sausage, home fries and toast plus bacon if you desire. The value at $7.50 or $8.25 is really great. All the menu items look inviting. It was several years since we last went but things remain good. I recommend.

I wouldnât recommend this restaurant, even tho there isnât a lot to pick from. The place is clean and washrooms are ok for cleanliness. The food is pricey for what you get. With the restaurants main focus is burgers. The burgers are ok but not Fantastic and the poutine is terrible. The companyâs chicken salad isnât that great and donât put a lot of chicken on the salad. The only thing i would recommend here is the milk shakes were really good. If you have choices, I would pick somewhere else to go. Enjoy your time

This cute little spot in Comber is a nice place to relax and sip your drink. The wait time for food is a little long so be prepared to stay a little longer. Prices are reasonable and a nice variety of items on the menu to choose from.
