In Thun for a weekend and tried this place. Food quality is excellent, large choice and even a chef in an open kitchen serving the warm food. Also designwise an experience.

A young and yet experienced team conjures up a variety of dishes from carefully selected products. The emphasis is on serving the products as close as possible to their natural state, some raw or minimally cooked in order to preserve their original flavour and taste.The kitchen is directly open on the dining area, and you can watch the chef stirring a soup or sprinkling herbs on a plate. The open spiral staircase leads up to the mezzanine, from where you can see the lower hall and the kitchen area, as well as view the street. Our group of twelve hikers had booked a table on the mezzanine.Among the interesting proposals on the menu, I noticed a ''no'' (no meat) pizza served on a large wooden board, elegantly presented and very tempting. For lunch, I chose a vegetarian mild curry, served with rice, vegetables in their sauce, and an unexpected crown of... popcorn! It was a tasty course, to which I added some chili oil as I often do with exotic dishes. While waiting for this to be served, I ordered a glass of (German) Riesling white wine, fruity and pleasant, and ended the meal with an expresso. Cost: just under 30 CHF.An enjoyable lunch in an uncluttered, bright setting.Thank you so much for this detailed and lovely review. Best regards, your pure-Crew

The "concept" is a little odd....fill in a card choosing the options you'd like on your burger, and it comes back pinned to the burger! The burger was great though...foccaccia type bread and well cooked fillings (if a little thin).Bathroom outside the restaurant - ask for a token - adds to the impression of strangenessWorth a trip

One can find good food in Switzerland but it usually is somewhat expensive. Here we are far from the big cities and have managed to eat at a reasonable price: 109 CHF or $120 for a 2 x main dish, desert and a beer. There are in fact 2 restaurants in this hotel: a fancy one with fancier dishes and a family type one with wooden tables and chairs inside but not nearly as attractive as sitting on the terrace â weather permits. The chef is the same as well as the basic ingredients. Tip: The location is hard to find and a GPS is a must.
