Had a beautiful lunch here yesterday with my family - really scrummy, beautifully presented food, wonderful service (really friendly, helpful and very professional) and absolutely stunning restaurant. You can't beat freshly cooked fish and chips and the seaside is place to get them. After a great day out in Southend - my first visit for 50 years, this was a family meal for dinner on 28/08/19. Found this place along the front, not too far from the old Kursaal. Made us very welcome and looked after us from the moment we set foot in the place. Extensive menu - fantastic cod and chips and burgers were enjoyed by our party, followed by super desserts - the banana split boat thing being the favourite. A real good old fashioned nosh up!! With a pot of tea, of course. And our lovely server, really made a fuss of us the whole time. Thanks for having us - we will be back again soon!!

I have visited Grumpy's quite a few times. Our latest visit was for an early dinner as we were feeling peckish.Their milkshakes are delicious, they come with everything, cream, cherries and a flake.This visit i enjoyed their steak and rib combo with curlyfries. Nice big portions and their curly fries are especially delicious.They have lots of nice American styled food such as burgers and hot dogs plus a large selection of meals , including a nice choice for my vegetarian sister. Always enjoyed what ever i have eaten. They also do an amazing breakfast. Their full England is really good, also their steak and eggs. The only downfall is the pancakes.. No maple syrup!! Occasionally had their cocktails and those i can also highly recommend! I would definitely recommend Grumpy's Diner, never had a bad meal, always friendly staff, especially Ryan, he is a credit to the Diner! Don't miss the chance to eat here.

It was our sons birthday today and heâd asked specifically for a steak & kidney pudding lunch! So after much Googleâing we found this cafe. It didnât disappoint! Gorgeous food and the staff were lovely, service was excellent & our son was over the moon with his lunch! All the food is homemade (which is rare!) and despite being full up we even stretched ourselves to share a pudding (pancakes with cherries & ice cream) which was delicious! We will definitely come back! Thank you to the staff who made our sons birthday lunch wish come true! Thanks for your lovely review and photos. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit, especially your Son and his steak & kidney pudding Birthday treat!. The homemade pancakes are a fairly recent addition to our menu, with breakfast or dessert.
