When I think of a diner for breakfast, this is the incarnation of the perfect spot. It's small, old, smells like coffee, and waitress knows everybody's name. the sign says, "low prices, delicious food, an friendly service, and that's just what we got. We got two of the special meals, one of them called "the bomb" which is a biscuits and gravy meal. Again these biscuits and gravy are the ones that you remember your grandma making when you were a kid, and all other versions are measured against that standard. We're big eaters too and couldn't finish our food. As a tourist I. Sandusky or cedar point attendee, you are doing yourself a disservice by not spending $10 on a huge, delicious breakfast at this little diner

I lower my expectations when I eat at a theme park, but this was even below that. the burger was cold and rubbery as was the bun. the fries were luke warm and limp. I will say, the chocolate strawberry malt was really good. Service and atmosphere was plain weird. there were workers everywhere but noone talked at all. all you could hear was the music. it was like something out of the Twilight Zone. Creepy.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on our way home from Kelleyâs Island. Great little find and a gem of a restaurant. The staff was friendly, our waitress was so personable and sweet! We ordered sausage gravy and biscuits & the big breakfast which was similar to mountain man (eggs, peppers, potatoes, breakfast meat & cheese). Delicious!Glad we found this little place.

I had been wanting to try Derrickâs for well over a month. Iâm so glad I did! The server was very nice. When asked she recommended the ribs! They fell off the bone with ease. I highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for spot on comfort food!

Having traveled quite a few places over the years, i always enjoyed eating breakfast at new places. On our first trip to the Port Sandusky Family restaurant we were just blown away. This is the definition of a "mom and pop" restaurant or diner type restaurant. The food was genuinely home made, fresh, hot and truly delicious. I ordered the Big Mans Breakfast and received Scrambled eggs, Toast sliced red skin home fries and two pieces of sausage patties that were the size of hamburgers. It was so delicious and as I told the waitress as we were leaving: I have traveled many places and this is one of the best breakfasts I have ever had! We both felt we had received a very generous portion of food for an extremely low price as well! Great job!!

We will be sure to return again when we are in town.

Have been by here many times for years. We decided to give it a try for lunch. The place was a little dirty and dated. We sat for a good 10 minutes and had to track someone down to wait on us. I ordered a salad with tuna. The food was ok, nothing special. Not sure weâd return.
