Nice place, good omelets and breakfast/lunch items. Perhaps I am naïve though expecting some sort of coffee from "café" ("café" is French for Coffee), but the only coffee at small-town restaurants (which is what this place basically is) is something that I don't consider drinkable. I am not trying to discourage anyone from stopping by here though - like I said, nice place to have breakfast/lunch when in town, even if looking at bit old/worn.

a nice "home town" small restaurant run by a local who everyone knows. It's a great place for breakfast or lunch. prices are low and food quality is high. a couple miles south of portage on highway 51. Clark might even buy you a cup of coffee, he's been known to do that many times. bob viking, portage

Just wanting to try something new we fell to Paula's Place. It isn't exactly new. It's the cornerstone of downtown Portage's busiest corner and has had numerous incarnations over the years. We passed it for 25 years or more since we went in last. But today we stopped. It was past the lunch hour so I don't know how busy it gets. I had a bowl of homemade soup and a sandwich; he had an omelet that was huge with a huge side of hash browns. Everything was really good, the place is clean, the server was nice. Coffee and a soft drink $16.
