Find out what Diner restaurants to try in Plattsburgh. Sitting only 18 miles South of the US border with Quebec, Plattsburgh was once a major hub in the fur trade with Montreal. The city is made for walking, full of beautiful turn of the century buildings and manicured parks. A River Walk follows the Saranac River as it cuts through town, ending at the shores of Lake Champlain, home to Champy, the American cousin of the Loch Ness Monster. The surrounding area is part of Adirondack Park, America's largest wilderness preserve outside of Alaska.

5 of us went for breakfast on a Friday morning. The place is small, not many seating choices for a party larger than 4 people. The servers were very friendly and attentive. The menu offers typical breakfast and lunch items. Our breakfast came quickly and the food was good, as were the prices. Certainly a good choice if you enjoy a good diner!
Aside from it's location in a strip mall, this a quintissential diner experience. The waitress was friendly and efficient, with lots of tables to take care of (sadly no diner-type booths). The menu was replete with everything you could hope for. The medium orange juice was the size of large in most restaurants. My veggie omelet was perfect. Perfect. My partner's poached eggs were nicely done. All in all, couldn't have been more satisfied. They should have been added to TripAdvisor long ago.

We were traveling and just happened to see Gus' Red Hots and had to stop. We had a good time and good meal. The waiter was super nice and our food was really good. Nice rest from the road and a great piece of America .

I love this place for breakfast, which is pretty good. Even better is the freewheeling conversation that flows between customers, mostly old time locals. The food and service are very good, and the pancakes are excellent. The coffee could be stronger, but when you're served 3 or 4 cups, it's OK.
