Lucky find. I was looking for an open restaurant for an early breakfast. I found the Start Fresh Cafe open and ready. I was seated immediately and served hot fresh coffee.I ordered from the ample breakfast selection and was served an excellent breakfast in short order.The waitress was prompt and friendly. She never let my coffee run dry.

I visited this Denny's twice during the winter holiday-time, on both occasions the service was excellent.The Manager ensured I was seated immediately (I chose the Counter).First visit Tyler E. served me; second was Jennifer H., every step of ordering & delivery was very fast & exactly as I requested.The Entree I prefer is the Tilapia (without the optional seasoning) - they do a great job to cook it properly without overcooking which makes it dry.One trivial point: When heating the Apple Crisp, allow longer time than 1 minute; guess it would take 2 minutes to warm the center.No doubt, I'll revisit when in the area.

We stopped by for breakfast. The server was super nice and worked so hard. Until 8.45 she was the only one serving which seemed unfair on her. The breakfast was just ok - the avocado, bacon and cheese omelette was a little dry. The toast came already buttered so there wasnât an option to let it cool and then butter it (as Iâd prefer) it to have very little butter (as my husband would prefer). It just had a dollop of butter in the middle! The atmosphere was good with music from Elvis, The Beatles etc.

Great place for generous breakfast and lunches. This is a family owned business with exceptionally friendly staff. Food is good, plenty of seating and light and bight place to be.

Visited here many times over the past 15 years of visiting Oceanside. Gradually this place has become more tatty and in need of renovations. Visited in August whilst in town. Waited for over 20 minutes for a table. (Appreciate itâs peak season). Finally sat at a grubby table. Food and service was great as ever tho.

In waiting to get the family together I had a bowl of cereal at home, so I only had a toasted bagel with cream cheese at Don's. Other members of the family all opted for the stuffed hash browns. There are three variations to choose from. Our grandson thought his was great and our son said his was so-so. The remainder of the family thought they were great. Parking is a problem, so be diligent in searching. We managed to find a spot about a half block up Coast Highway.Going there on the day before Easter meant that they were very busy. We were told it was a 45 minute wait and they were dead on in their estimate.Service was friendly but a bit stodgy. Not everything came all at once.

Had their âExpressâ breakfast. The best French toast Iâve ever had!!! They were big, filling, and soooo yummy! Canât speak for the rest of the food but my family seemed to enjoy it. My only complaint was since the front doors are left open, the restaurant is warm and flies bothered us while we ate. Would come again just for the French toast!

Would have been good breakfast if hot. Never had eggs served so cold. If you go, avoid seating on the coastal highway side - constant sound of trucks racing and gunning it. Very noisy - distrusting. Overall think prior ratings are over rated
