Reviews on Diner food in Nijmegen, Gelderland Province, The Netherlands. At over 2000 years old, Nijmegen has had a pretty full life. Its transition from Roman military camp to modern municipality has not been without growing pains, but today Nijmegen is thriving, largely because of its lively student population and its status as a hub for political activism. Try to visit during the internationally popular Nijmeegse Vierdaagse four-day walking festival and the epic Zomerfeesten summer party. They happen at the same time, because why not?

Lunch Dinner Drinks
We enjoyed dinner here on a calm Sunday evening. Setting is pleasant, calm and relaxed. Service is great; personal and friendly.Food is served at a relaxed pace and in plentiful portions. We are moderate eaters. Food is very good without breaking real culinary records. Vegetables are exquisitely prepared, we really enjoyed these. Wines varied a bit; the red was very good and better than the white which was a bit average. We are true wine lovers.Pricing is moderate; we finished at just below 90 euros for the two of us.

Original and pure dishes and the relaxed atmosphere have made Eetlokaal Koks (Eetlokaal is Dutch for dining room) an established name in Nijmegen over the last twenty years of our existence. In the lively Bottendaal area, walking distance from Central sta
I tried this restaurant whilst staying overnight in a local hotel - it was cold and I couldn't be bothered to walk into the central area of the town. It's a lovely, cosy place, and the welcome is warm. The menu offers fairly standard fare - various meat, fish, salad options, etc, but on my experience this evening the cooking is of a good quality. I particularly enjoyed a main course of catfish (which replaced the menu of cod, which wasn't available) and the chips were fabulous! The prices are very reasonable - around £25.00 for a two course meal with two glasses of wine.I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.
