The city of New London, Connecticut, has been an important port since the Revolutionary War, when it served as a base for American privateers raiding British Ships. In the 19th century, the revenues brought into the city by whalers helped build what now forms the city's charming center, filled with historic homes, taverns and shops. The masts of tall ships can still be seen passing through the harbor, the home of Coast Guard ships and the site of the annual Sailfest summer celebration.

Fairly-new owners. I hadn't been there in years and now we're hooked on Norm's. The coffee is the best and bottomless. They serve quality food. Perfectly-prepared eggs, sausage, and bacon. Very accommodating and friendly. We've been with family and friends who walk out feeling the same way. Just ate there this morning and won't need to have lunch. Great small diner feel. You can watch your food being prepared !

I visited this establishment today, and...to be honest....I think people should be aware of what they're about to get into if they are planning on visiting it.

We ate breakfast here and it was good. Went back for supper. the menu is huge and should cover any kind of food you would want. Both times our waitress's needed improvement. Our breakfast waitress would disappear for long periods. We actually got up to leave and she finally showed up. The supper waitress was not friendly at all and passed up my empty glass several times. Food was just ok.

Had breakfast here before heading over to the Coast Guard Academy to pick up my son from summer AIM week. Ordered eggs and hot sausage platter - way too much food for one person to eat. It was served with english muffin and grits. Everything arrive piping hot! Service was great, very friendly. Not a fancy restaurant - but certainly a good value and good food. Definitely a local joint. If we ever get back to New London we will surely stop in for a meal.

Well, I have been here for breakfast a couple of times so decided to try dinner. I am going to try to be objective, but other than the burgers, don't bother. Breakfast is much better. The soup was terrible, the entrée was borderline edible(chicken fried steak), the mashed potatoes were reheated so many times they had a brownish color. The waiter was nice but it was obvious he rushed thru our order, since he was more interested in his friends that were seated next to us. He forgot things, NEVER refilled our drinks, and always seemed to be in a BIG RUSH! EXCEPT he had time to chat with his friends and even mentioned loudly, THAT THEIR MEAL WAS ON THE HOUSE! I am sorry I gave him a tip at all. But I did for his polite manner. I suggest to this particular Denny's that you should keep your eye on your books because I would not be surprised if many "certain" customers are being given FREE MEALS.
