Friendly accurate service, and quite nice food. I tried the soup of the day (beef barley), which was good, and the âcupâ was a decent size. The classic Reuben was tender and just the right size. The fries were good, and closest to British-style chips that I have had in a while.

The Waverly Restaurant appears to be a cross between a deli, luncheonette, and cafeteria with tables & booths on one side and different food counters on the other side. What was unique about this place was the large Stewart's Root Beer Barrel & Umbrella at the front by the door along with a gourmet yogurt freezer and cotton candy machine. They even have a small Sabrett Hot Dog Cart & Umbrella on top of one of the counters in the back by a large Hot Dogs Sign. Menu boards across the wall offer a nice selection for breakfast and lunch. My wifeâs pancakes (3 large) turned out good, but too much for her to finish. The breakfast sandwich I ordered on a roll came with 2 eggs, 2 sausages & cheese was also good. We enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and wooden booth tables.

My friend and I stayed at the Wyndham in Florham Park so the Florham Park Diner was close by. We had breakfast there Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, I ordered a spinach and feta omelet. The feta was cooked in the egg, not in the folded omelet. It was good, but a little too salty. I ordered grits. They were DELICIOUS, smooth and creamy. My friend got the healthy egg white omelet with asparagus and she like it too. The fruit cup was also tasty. Sunday I ordered the Mediterranean omelet. It was filled with lots of olives and sundried tomatoes. Unfortunately, the grits on Sunday morning looked like they were leftover from Saturday. They were thick and lumpy, not smooth and creamy and not hot enough. My friend ordered the spinach and feta omelet. She said she liked the egg white omelet better. Again, the fruit cup was good. The diner is bright and clean. It looks like it was remodeled recently. The diner and the ladiesâ room were modern with really nice glass tile.Thank you for taking the time to review your recent trips to the diner and for visiting us when staying in Florham Park. Sounds like we were having an off moment with the grits on your second visit. Please note all of our items are made fresh to order and use fresh ingredients that are delivered daily. Looking forward to hosting you again should you e in the area!

My first time visiting Summit. Arrived in the early morning and found this great place. I sat at the counter and was rapidly greeted by a very nice non-English speaking waitress. After a little difficulty with a question I had ... she just pointed to the menu board. Super pleasant though. I ordered a sausage omelet and was really surprised and pleased by the portions. The omelet came with toast and potatoes. Huge chunks of sausage! I enjoyed every bite. I walked to the restaurant but noticed that there may only be paid parking nearby. Itâs on a busy street and street parking was full each time I was outside. Be sure to plan an extra few minutes to find parking...and budget that into what you expect to spend for breakfast. The atmosphere was great...and any diner that attracts the local police as customers has my vote! The only con I found was that the coffee top-offs were nearly non-existent. I only got one top-off during my entire visit...and restaurant capacity was at about 50% on average.
